At the risk of becoming a poster child for Rob01's post of do not attack new members, I am a rookie looking to learn. I am a hunter stepping up to competitive distance.
Here's the problem.
I keep running into code or acronyms for everything such as AW, AICS, AE... ect. In my stumbling research I have found the difference in and what they are, but what do the letters stand for. Just one example of what I am talking about. I just want to know where to find books for learning this on my own. Base bottom ground floor info. Haven't found a " Long distance shooting for dummies" book yet. I know there is no such thing as a stupid question if only asked once. But I'd rather find it for myself.

Re: Rookie Handicap

Thats not a punishable question. You're new, and you'll catch on. Most of these acronyms are actually a product of the company who makes the products. If you spend a month reading the site, you'll start to pick up on them. Folks like to post pictures too so you can see what they're talking about. I would recommend spending some time on the site rather thanks looking for a book to help you out.

Google image is your best friend here.

Welcome to the hide my man.

Re: Rookie Handicap

I had that same issue a couple years back and sometimes now too. I've found that the search function below the shout box and urbandictionary clear 99% of my acronym questions. The rest are probably posted by VJJ and half the time you don't even want to KNOW what he's talking about, haha.

Good luck and welcome!

Ah, no.

Do some research. Those books are full of a lot of misinformation. Major Plaster is not the expert he purports himself to be.

Re: Rookie Handicap

P4 Reticle not fine all clock-wise w/ .1 mil clicks. I believe I got it because the prior owner wanted counter clock-wise like all his others.

I'm learning. Just found a great vid on here to help me better understand MOA and how it works.

Like I said, Rookie.
