Hornady Brass with Crimped Primer Pockets?

Re: Hornady Brass with Crimped Primer Pockets?

Take a look at it up close, you should be able to see the crimp if it is there.

Take a chamfer/deburring tool and run it around in the pocket. If it lets you seat it, then it was probably crimped. You could always snag one of the primer pocket uniformers and just use that.

Re: Hornady Brass with Crimped Primer Pockets?

I had 100 or so Hornady cases for my 308. I had to ream the pockets on every one of them before I could seat new primers in them.

It would not surprise me if your's are not the same way.
