I've got a chance to buy this stock and wasn't sure what it is. I think it is fiberglass, and it looks like a McMillian GAP except it has brown. Any thoughts? The comb isn't defined in the back like some stocks that I have seen.

Re: ID a rifle stock please!

It "appears" to be a McMillan of some sort. GAP is not a model, it's a color pattern. That one looks to be a Remington Classic model.

That stock looks like it's going to need some work to get it going based on the crappy pictures. No stock pad to be seen and it looks like someone hogged it out some with a Dremel, including that circular area right behind the rear action screw.

I wouldn't pay more than $200 tops for that stock without more info and better pics unless you really know what you're doing and have done a few bedding jobs.

I appreciate the response Jason! I figured $55 shipped was well under $200, so it's hard to lose on that deal. I'll post some pics when it arrives.

I've been itching for another precision build...this may be just the starting line that I needed!

Re: ID a rifle stock please!

Yep, $55 is worth it, at the very least you'll have a fiberglass boat paddle....and that's worth $55

Good deal, congrats.

Re: ID a rifle stock please!

Thank you very much! I can't wait to get it and get some measurements to know for certain what it is.

The seller asked if I wanted this one as well. Anyone know what it is? It is another synthetic and looks to be unfinished, but I can't figure out to what. Looks to have checkering.

Re: ID a rifle stock please!

this stock is Ruger R as well. just with out the molded in color. bothe stocks are inleted for the M77's

Re: ID a rifle stock please!

A big thanks to everyone for the help. I received the stock today and it looks like a Mcmillan M77. What do you all think? It is in better shape than I thought, and it looks like the brown is similar to a auto body bondo. It sure is light!

Now the only question is do I look for a Ruger or sell? Hmmmm.

Here is the bottom where the swing mag goes.

I'm not one to brag, but I also grabbed this unfinished laminate Mauser stock
