I have the V1 - one of the first 300 production guns. Love mine, but am excited to replace it with the primary weapons systems MK114!

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I like the DD SOCOM rails, but have one that isn't mounted straight to the gun, which appears to be the downside of that lite rail style system (sometimes a pain in the ass).

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I have a V1 as well. Wish I could get over to GA and check out their facility. I hear its pretty impressive. Marty has done a lot with that company and deserves his props.

I used to go to the same church with Marty and yes he has done a lot since then! I remember someone telling me he made parts for ARs so I asked him one day at church and he was telling me about his new lightweight rail systems... that was 2003/4. The facility he had in savannah was nice. I never went to the black creek facility. Thought he moved again? Been a while. I moved from down that way so I don't get by there often anymore.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

Also see you're in Hammond, LA. If and when I move back to the northshore I'll have to come by your shop!

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

love their stuff, their rails are some of my favs, i have a DD m4v1 and its my favorite ar i own. builing a mk18 upper right now and will have had 2 of their ar10 rails. just all around great stuff.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

Just sold a DD upper and already wish I had it back. I love Daniel Defense stuff, their stuff top quality.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I got two of their CHF 5.56 nato barrels. They are tough. I also have the omega piston rail that fits nicely with my cmmg piston conversion. I don't have any experience with their factory rifles (because I build my own), but their products are top notch. I will definitely be purchasing a 10.3" CHF barrel once I get my stamp.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

Like their rails and have one of their uppers. Works great.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

actually I just came back from the range to zero my scope and break in my Noveske SPR which was pretty disappointing best group was 1.2 inches (10 shots) and the DD 16 incher topped with an ACOG shot .6 inch (5 shots) maybe I need more range time with the Noveske.

I won't be replacing my 16" DD CHF barrel anytime soon, because it'll do the same thing at 100 with 69 SMKs. It's a 1:7.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I have a DDM4V1 and it's the 520 that DD has built. Use the crap out of it and it still runs like a champ. Got it back in Feb of 2009. This rifle I will never sell.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I think DD is the new Colt! Quality stuff from a company that cares about customers and contracts equally

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

Have a barrel, several rails and a LPK in various builds. Top notch quality, and the trigger is pretty damn smooth for a factory single stage mil-spec part.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I've got a DD 16" middy and I don't see myself ever owning another 5.56 AR.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I have a DDM4V7 and love it. Great workmanship, handles well, lightweight, good shooter.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I have the Daniel Defense V7 model. Very light weight and accurate.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

DD rails on both my ar15 and 10, the 15 has the DD rear site

love the stuff, hate paying for it

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I like DD too; but, I'd like to see a Matech BDC, rather than A1 style detachable BUIS, available in their line up. I'd also like to see a mil-spec sling loop set installed rather than the gun coming with none. Their marketing suggests however that they are mostly interested about what Larry Vickers thinks. A shooter can get a single point sling on the gun real quick but to put an M1 sling on the gun requires an act of Congress.

Matech are flimsy and you will never see DD sell them on their rifles.

As for not having sling loops, there are better ways of mounting slings these days. As well as better 2 point slings (modern quick adjust such as VTAC and VCAS - note not single points). Many of their rifles come with rails with integrated QD. I can see wanting a traditional sling loop and if that is a deal breaker there are good options out there.

Larry Vickers endorses DD, but not everything DD sells is how Vickers prefers. For example, he likes carbine length gas systems with a rail that surrounds the front sight and mounting a pistol light in the 12 0'clock. He also hates single point slings, prefers having a FSB instead of a rail mounted sight, etc.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I'm a big fan of DD products and was a dealer for a few years.

Good products, good engineering, good QC and CS, and fairly local to me.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

got a few of their barrels in 5.56 and 6.5 grendel, all good quality, accurate barrels.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

Have had a 762 rail on my 308AR and a 9.5FSP on my M4. Love their stuff.

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I retired my DD upper just because I can't find a matching lower

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

Flight, just buy a new DD complete rifle and you will have a nice spare upper. Also there are from time to time there are lowers floating around the net.

It takes a little finess to ge tit straight, but it can be done. I had the RIS II put on my rifle, and I had to spend some time to get it straight.

I am a DD fan, DD rails and BCM uppers are what I use.

And this was important because you were entering your rifle in a beauty competition?

Re: Any Daniel Defense fans here?

I just finished up a 2-day Optic/Carbine class sponsored by Aimpoint. Daniel Defense supplied about 12 rifles for us to use during the training. I know that it is a marketing/R&D tool for them, but I was very appreciative of their willingness to let us shoot their equipment. All of the rifles appeared brand new and we shot several rounds without cleaning with very few stoppages. I was amazed as it took about 250 rounds to break in my Bushmaster after I built it.

I was really happy with the rifle I used during the training - very accurate and reliable. I just wish I could have taken it home. Their facility is still in the Black Creek location according to the representative. Since its only about one hour from me I plan on taking my 11-year old son up there for a factory tour when we get the chance.
