Gotta love Vortex.

I do.

Re: Vortex Ranger 1000 Rangefinder #RRF-101 Are Here

I think Vortex makes a fine product, and this one certainly looks good. I just can't but wonder why it is when the almost all their competition is 1600 yard units, that would come out with this? unless their 1600 is just around the corner and this one is just intended to go after the hunter market.

Absolutely love my Vortex PST, likewise I'd love to get my hands on one of these.

Agreed! 1000 yards is nice and adequate for most hunting situations, but a 1600 yard unit is more suitable for tactical/target competitions. I'll wait for a 1600 LRF.

I am looking forward to some reviews of this one. If the quality is where I suspect it will be it may be a great value for the price.

Re: Vortex Ranger 1000 Rangefinder #RRF-101 Are Here

I'm looking to pick up a range finder soon. If the Vortex went out to 1600 I would consider it. It looks like the Bushnell Elite 1600 is gonna be my choice. I wasn't overly impressed with my Razor 5-20x, I sold it within 2 weeks. Vortex CS is great but they have some work to do to get any more of my money. YMMV.

Re: Vortex Ranger 1000 Rangefinder #RRF-101 Are Here

just played around with one of these at the shop, i walked out side and hit 1250 yards off a sign down the street. i am very impressed with this range finder so far it is defiantly going on the list of things to buy!
