Just picked this up. It was black and then I refinished it cerakote burnt bronze. 16" barrel, piston rifle standard goodies include the Phase 5 sling plate that's awesome.
did you consider any other brown variants with the cerakote? im getting quotes for a two tone job on my glock and depending on if i like the shade, ill do my rifle. in essence, what im asking is, is that burnt bronze functional outside (not shiny, etc) and does it match the coyote/multicam stuff in real life as well as it does in the pictures?
Yeah, I would like to know if you done it yourself also. I am wanting to try it on my old 1911, I figure if I screw it up no big deal, easy fix, not so easy with an AR. Looks great though, nice gun.
In person this color looks a lot like the anodizing on the Scars, acogs and a couple other FDE parts. The thing I love about it is that it looks different no matter where it's at. In these pics it's darker, outside in sunlight it's lighter. It's a decent concealer but no solid color will do great at that and anything is better than black.
Funny you mention a MK12. I have one of those done and I am fixing to put it up for sale. It's the mk12 mod 1 variant.

that is a cool color for an AR, I may have to try it too, getting a little tired of all the black rifles in the safe. thanx for taking the plunge first. Cheers.
Thanks. I've been testing it and plan on doing a full write up on it. I was hesitant to go to the piston side but after 400 rounds fired my bcg can be cleaned with a can of compressed air.......
