I thought I'd post up a few photos of a conversion I did recently. Starting with an AICS stock and a Sako 85. I machined up a new centre block to suit the Sako and modified an AI AW mag to suit the Sako action. The stock has a 4340 recoil lug fitted as well, for some reason Sako don't use one in the original stock. I also milled the bolt handle down and fitted a Badger knob and gave it a squirt of Cerakote.

You do very nice work! What is your mill? Haas? The rotary makes it nice doesn't it! You can do it in one setup (except the ends of course).

Thanks guys, I reckon it came up pretty well, it's definitely a little different anyway.

Tac284, I did this on my little Tormach mill, it's one of the handiest tools I've ever owned. The 4th axis is a wonder, it just eliminates so much setup time. I'm just waiting now to see what their CNC lathe is going to work out like, I reckon it'll make an excellent gunsmithing lathe with a small footprint for a cnc.

I've got a big Cincinnatti CNC mill but this little guy gets more use for this type of work.
