28 July - Panhandle Shooters Challenge registration is open!

The match will be a high tempo event with minimal “down time”. The course of fire will test and train disciplines from across law enforcement, military and practical marksman spectrums. Competitors can expect engagements from 50-1000yds at an assortment of steel, reactive, paper and automated moving targets. Targets size will vary in difficulty based on the shooters position, distance and time allotted. Most stages will include “stressors”, either time and/or movement. The competition will require 100 rounds to complete the course of fire and is caliber restricted to 300 WinMag and below.

Registration will be done by first come first serve basis; these matches will be limited to 40 competitors. Once the match date is announced send an email to [email protected] with the subject “Panhandle Shooter’s Challenge Registration” and your full name and contact information. You will receive a confirmation email shortly thereafter. A match fee of $75.00 will be due the morning of the match.

See our website for more information about us, our training and facilities. This is a match is designed to rival the best one day of the big national matches. So it is good sustainment training for some and a good azimuth check for others!

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge - 28 July

Just finished the COF. We are going to use some of the newer ranges during this match. We were going to wait but progress is coming along well.

So expect no paper and all steel for this one.

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge - 28 July

Will there be a "Python" shaped target in this new COF

We should have a larger crowd this time around, but have room for few more. Expect a full day gentlemen. You will get a small taste of the new ranges we are introducing at the GAP Grind.

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge - 28 July

Just PCSed to NAS Pensacola and am looking forward to joining you guys on Saturday.

Will I be able to zero my rifle in the morning before we get started?
Should I bring my 4x4 vehicle or are the roads paved?

My sports car made it to the range. Unless your driving a lambo or the like you don't need the 4x4.

Typically there is not a place to zero but I imagine shannon or brian could work something out. its pretty laid back. Roads are gravel and cars normally dont have any problem. Once on site its all walking

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge - 28 July

I was able to confirm zero at the last match in May. Pretty sure you have from 7:00-7:45 to get it done while everyone is signing in.

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge - 28 July

You will be able to zero between 7:00 and 7:45. Make sure you follow the directions on our website to the range. If you choose to not listen to me and follow your GPS, I would recommend walking in the opposite direction of the Banjo music after you get stuck.

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge- 7/28 RESULTS/PHOTOS

Big thanks to Brian and Shannon for an excellent match. I have shot every match they have hosted and I continue to be amazed at all the new stuff every time I show up. I have said it before but if you are a new or veteran shooter this is the best $75 you could spend on a match. You will walk away with much more knowledge than what you came with and will do more shooting in one day than most matches have in two. The heat definitely played a factor throughout the day and even kept a few at home in the AC. To all that stayed home due to the heat... you missed a great one! My understanding is you will see several of these barricades again at the GAP Grind.

Here are a few pictures from the match. to see all the pictures go to the link below. http://s1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa467/saundjf/Panhandle%20Shooters%20Challenge%20%20July%202012/

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge- 7/28 RESULTS/PHOTOS

Awesome match guys! Had a damn good time showing everyone how making 12th place is supposed to be done. Very challenging and entertaining course of fire as to be expected from K&M.

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge- 7/28 RESULTS/PHOTOS

congrats Joe, Chad and Jim!

wish i could have made it!

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge- 7/28 RESULTS/PHOTOS

Bryan and Shannon, thanks again for putting on a great match!

The facility is stunning, the stages challenging and fun, and virtually every detail has been thought of and addressed. From the bunkhouse to the scoring, I can't imagine anything I'd change or want to see different...except the weather.

Hope I can make the next one!

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge- 7/28 RESULTS/PHOTOS

First, I would like to Thank Shannon and Bryan for providing such a first rate facility and for running the match in such a professional manner. I would also like to give cudos to Shannon and Bryan as far as, the Competition Preparation Course that they offer. Guys if you think you want to get into the tactical matches, I highly advise that you look into this class at K&M. I can assure you that the guys at K&M will give you, your moneys' worth at this class. As a matter of fact, I will probably take it again at some point. Also I would like to give a big Thanks to Mike for his assistance at the class.

Congrats to the shooters that ended up on top of the heap. It was good getting to meet most of you guys. I was really impressed with the skill level of the shooters that attended. I hope to get back down to K&M for the next Panhandle challenge. I will be working on my weak areas until then....

Re: Panhandle Shooters Challenge- 7/28 RESULTS/PHOTOS

Definately one of the best facilities around, and a VERY well run match, Hats off to the K&M team for a first class match, I will certainly return for future matches and train ups. Congrats to the winners, a tough field of competitors all around.
