Are the Voodoo tobago packs anygood? Using it to haul my gear to my range and to the deer stand.

Re: Voodoo packs?

I had one but the first trip I used it on the zipper gave out. When I returned it they didnt have any more so I just got my money back.

Re: Voodoo packs?

I have a Voodoo gun case and bag. Both seem to be made very well. Haven't used either one very much yet, but so far so good

Re: Voodoo packs?

Have 2 cases and love them. I have a friend who bought one with a minor zipper problem. They backed up their product by shipping him a brand new one and told him to keep the other. They responded very quickly.

Re: Voodoo packs?

I have the double gun case and a pack. Both have held up very well. NO problems at all. I would definitly recommend them.

Re: Voodoo packs?

Thanks guys I'll be going to get one in a few days.

Re: Voodoo packs?

Can't speak for a pack but I have one of their shooting mats thats held up very well for me. Seems to be of better quality than the Midway mat it replaced.

Re: Voodoo packs?

And i have had just the opposite experience.

Purchased a double carbine softcase from voodoo a few years back.

within 6 months the zippers along the top which opens the case split, been that way since.

The rest of the case seems to be ok, but the main zippers HAVE to work 100% of the time, or whats the point?

Re: Voodoo packs?

I have one of their older drag bags, one of the zippers gave away in the small pockets but the material has held up fine. I have drug through many briar patches. I just bought their Praetorian pack and it's a damn good pack with plenty of storage. I have a bunch of gear in it and with my rifle I would say it weighs close to 85 lbs. I throw it around over my shoulders like nothing and the stitching has held up fine. The material is not as heavy as Maxpedition but it works for me.

Re: Voodoo packs?

I bought a voodoo drag bag in January of this year. So far I have had zero issues. I usually haul 2 rifles plus other items in the bag at least twice a month to the range. Knock on wood I guess.

Re: Voodoo packs?

I have heard the stories of bad bags from voodoo. But after running the same pack for 4 years all over gods green (and brown) earth, I'm a believer. No zipper issues, solid seams, no issues.
+1 for voodoo products and CS

Re: Voodoo packs?

I always try to buy american when I can, but for the amount I actually use my bag I picked up a Midway bag on sale.

It's really pretty good.

Re: Voodoo packs?

The VooDoo gear is really quite good!

I sell a lot of it, and yes, we see the occasional problem, but the ratio of defects is very small. Best part, my rep from VooDoo says, "Just hand 'em a new replacement, and I'll credit you." The company is very anxious to build their reputation.

The tobago pack is good, but big. I think the best pack they make is the Level III. It is a bit small, but I get 40 pounds of shooting gear in mine, and along with a 20 pound drag bag, that's about all I like to carry. There is a new larger version of the Level III pack on the way. That one should be worth trying.

Actually, the biggest problem with VooDoo is getting the stuff. If I order 60 or 70 items, I usually see 25.

Cheers... Jim

Re: Voodoo packs?

All the Voodoo gear I have used has held up decently. From their Level III pack to their shooting mats, never had an issue.

Re: Voodoo packs?

I have a rifle bag of theirs that works fine and a tobaggo bag that is another story. I used it for less then a week and almost every zipper broke, the main pouch zipper breaking as I was getting off of a helicopter, just about the worst timing possible. I emailed them about this and they were very helpful saying to send it back to them to look at, I just don't have any outgoing mail capability right now. I replaced it with a mystery ranch pack and it has held up to everything I have used it for.
