What one piece scope mount would you recommend for the new SS 1 to 6 for mounting on AR platform?

I was looking at the American Defense Quick Release Mount and JP Enterprise in the Brownels catalog.

Thanks

I use a Burris AR-P.E.P.R. You can get it with the quick detach also. Sportsmans Warehouse have them in a bubble pack.

Spuhr cantilever 30mm mount, its a work of art! This is what I am mounting my 1-6x SWFA to my REPR with. I dont need a QD so I went with a non-QD model. You wont be disappointed!

Re: What one piece mount for SS 1 to 6 scope on AR?

I am in the same boat as you, need a mount for my 1-6 on my AR. Interested in seeing what everyone suggests.

Re: What one piece mount for SS 1 to 6 scope on AR?

My AR is set up with a 3-9x40 but DNZ freedom Reaper scope mounts are very solid and easy to level your scope using the feeler gauge method. Setup was a breeze and they have been perfect in my experience. There are forward tilted ones as well as square mounts, give them a look.

My Leupold CQBSS sits in a Leupold mount right now, and runs pretty well with no shift noticed to date. It also punches it out far enough for me too as not many other mounts had a long enough cantilever.

I have the AD holding a Vortex 1-4 for 3 gun. Love it !!

What? Can you please elaborate on how a cantilever mount will place the image on a different plane at 1x. The mount is a static piece of equipment that does not know which magnification the optic is set to. If anything it sounds like the optic you were using was not a true 1x variable.

Low variable optics are notorious for having long eye relief, especially on the low end of the magnification range. Unless the eye relief on the new 1-6 SS is 3" or less there is no way in hell the optic can be mounted to the AR15 correctly for proper NTCH shooting without a cantilever mount.

Without a doubt, go with the WARNE RAMP mount. This is the most solid mount on the planet and offers a 45 degree mount for either side. This is the only mount I'll use for 3-Gun or Tactical carbine applications.

+1 to Hacker One and the Burris P.E.P.R. mount, just make sure to get the picatinney ring caps. Mine was solid as hell and easy to setup.

A cantilever is definitely required and is also what I referenced when I mentioned the heavily cantilevered Leupold mount I had to switch to for my Mark 8 on an MK12.

Here's a picture of my rifle with the CQBSS:

As for the technical details of why to not run a canted base on a 1x scope, take a look at my post in this thread here and what David S had to say on the subject: Link.

I talked with Larue about using a 1-6 on their LT158 which has 10MOA built into the mount. They indicated that there would be no issue on 1x. I'm curious to find out more information on the issue you ran into with your setup.

Re: What one piece mount for SS 1 to 6 scope on AR?

I wouldn't think one needs a canted base for the expected range of a 6x max power scope anyway, unless you are shooting something with a lot of drop like subsonic 300 whisper/blk.

I'm getting the SS 1-6 too, and I'll be using a Larue LT-104.

I have two 10MOA LT-158 mounts, but they are for 300 whisper and an SPR, both of which can make good use of the cant when shooting at the limits of their ranges.

Re: What one piece mount for SS 1 to 6 scope on AR?

I ordered a bobro along with a 1-6 SS from SWFA for my Bushmaster, and I have a LT104 that holds an M223 on my RRA.

A polished cam on the mount rubs against the bottom side of the rail. It makes a noticeable spot that is glossier than the rest of the rail. I don't think "mar up your rail" is quite the right description, but I can't think of anything better, so there ya go.

Re: What one piece mount for SS 1 to 6 scope on AR?

Larue 104

Since it was outside of the optical center both were evident to the point of annoyance. One can imagine how pissed and disappointed after how much I had spent on the scope, even on the MIL/LEO discount, and the one feature I wanted sucked. This was in a 20moa mount at the time, no fault of course of Badger, it was just a canted mount that I purchased not knowing any better.

After going with the actual 0moa Leupold mount designed for it, it now works like a charm and I'm hammer pairing multiples at close range, then with a twist of a wrist I'm engaging at distance with precision.

Go with what you want guys, but I learned my lesson by already walking down that road. Maybe the SWFA SS won't be as affected by this, but I wouldn't chance it.
