Im thinking about buying a 308 with a stiller action any advantages over Rem 700?

I have one of both and for some reason the bolt on the Stiller just feels more rigid. Lot less wingle in it when its cycling and the slam it makes going into chamber is more clear. Have not noticed any difference in precision however, as the trued Rem700 shoots bug holes (its in 6.5x47L, a cartridge known to be benchrest-like precise).
The side bolt release on the Stiller is also nice vs. the Rem700.
Would I buy another Stiller? Yeah, probably, unless I got a good deal on a Rem700 or another custom action.

What it would cost to get that Rem true, you're better off going custom. There's a good video on youtube comparing the two, you should check it out.

Go stiller unless you already have a remington 700 you want to build with. Stillers are a good value for what you get.
