Inquiring about the wait time for a S&B scope. I just received a e-mail from a rep at S&B and it stated

"Sir,

Thank you for your order. We will put your name on the list for a 5-25x56 PMII L/P- H37- 0.1Mil- CCW."

From this point on what is the average wait time until delivery?

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

Could be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on what they are building and how long that list is. Don't worry though you will be very happy when it does arrive.

Or even a few years. I think the 3-20x50 debuted at the 2010 Shot Show. I wasn't able to get my hands on one till March 2012. But you're right I was very happy and satisfied haha.

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

The 3-20s weren't in production. There were only prototypes. It's a totally different situation and a 5-25x will take that long.

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

The last ones I ordered took about 5-6 mos. I have a few extra S&B scopes if someone needs one and is not requiring EXACTLY one spec.

Have you used the H37 before? If not....I'd look at the H58 or H59...

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

Man I hope its not a few years, 5-6 months I can handle. In all honesty 1 year is about all I could tolerate. Got my fingers crossed and hoping for a 1 or 2 months. Rob01 India 3/1 correct, how you doing?

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

I ordered a 5-25x56 from a source in January and was told it was in stock and would ship in 24 hours. It did not.

They then said it was out of stock and more were expected in two weeks. Two weeks, nothing came.

They then said expect May 6th. Still no scope.

Last word was July.

I've still got it on order because of the killer price I got, especially with the recent price hike.

However I got impatient and ordered one in the meantime. Three days later it was in my hands. Both units I've ordered were H2CMR reticle, there may be more wait on a Horus.

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

Where did you find the 5-25 HCMR in stock? I am still waiting for one from OpticsPlanet.

That's who I've got one on order with. I got mine from Mile High. CS Tactical also had some, but were CW knobs.

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

I got mine 2 weeks ago... waited for 10 months... but frankly, the scope was worth every penny spend and every minute waited. It is a masterpiece.

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

I ordered a PMII 5-25x56 L/P H2CMR MRAD MTC LT CCW direct from SB in mid April. I was quoted 18-22 weeks. Time will tell if this is an accurate wait time. I got a Vortex PST to tide me over until the SB arrives as I don't have a bunch of scopes laying around. Ordered the H2CMR per Rob1s' recommendation. Wanted a ret with more than just the center illumination to work on low light movers.

What does the LT mean in the specs?

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

I have a 5-25X56 PMII with ceramic finish and MSR reticle on order from Mile High. They were great to work with. I was told 8-12 weeks but I know they are not making them so they are at the mercy of the production line. It will get here when it gets here.

I'm kind of entertained by waiting to see what happens first - my LMT MWS comes in or the scope. The rifle had a 1 month headstart.

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

Mile High just posted the have some P4F (I think MOA) with CCW in the WTS Optics section.

When it comes to S & B scopes, the following apply:

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"DT"</span></span> = <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"Double Turn"</span></span>

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"ST"</span></span> = <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"Single Turn"</span></span>

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"LT"</span></span> = <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"Locking Turret"</span></span>

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"MTC"</span></span> = <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"More Tacile Click"</span></span>

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"P"</span></span> = <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"Adjustable Parallax"</span></span>

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"L"</span></span> = <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"Lit/Lighted" (Illuminated)</span></span>

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"CM"</span></span> = <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"Centimeter" (1 centimeter at 100 meters / 0.1 MRAD at 100 yards)</span></span>

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"CW"</span></span> = <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"Clockwise" (rotating Elevation Turret CW moves POI "Up", Windage POI to "Right")</span></span>

<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"CCW"</span></span> = <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">"Counter Clockwise" (rotating Elevation Turret CCW moves POI "Up", Windage POI to "Right")</span></span>

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

How does the double turn knob work? It doesn't seem too common?

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

I prefer the DT to the MTC turrets. Both are literally double turn mechanisms, but I dislike the milestone click found on the MTC. The MTC offers a feature to let you know whether you're on the first or second turn and it works in the dark. The DT's second turn indicator is visual and not useful in the dark.

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

Actually the double turn is very common on the 5-25x models and 3-12x as well. Only the 4-16s usually you will see the single turns as they don't offer the mil knob in a double turn on the 4-16x.

I prefer the standard double turn to the MTC myself as well. That said the second rev indicator not being able to be seen in the dark isn't a big deal as you have 14 mils of elevation on the first turn so unless you are shooting past 1200 yards with a .308 in the dark then you should be fine. I rarely get off the first rev with any of my rifles.

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

Excellent reticle. 1/2 mil marks and lots of room to hold over. Also .2 mil marks out at the right, left and top before the heavy duplex starts. Good for ranging. Only con would be only the center portion of the reticle illuminates but I never found it to be a hindrance.

Here's a full reticle pic at 10x at 400 yard steel. Don't hold the picture quality or FOV against the scope. It's my non picture taking abilities LOL

And at 15x

And 20x. The round steel is 8"

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

Woah thats good. Hey thanks for that! Amazing quality huh? I cant wait to see it.

I cant believe that is 400yards away rob.

See the scope that I have been using was a bushnells 3200 10x40

haha. So I think this S&B 5-25x56 P4F is going to be a big step up !!

Re: S&B Wait time 5X25

Yeah it's a little bit of an upgrade
