I suspect there are many good ones and the book has lots of them. What has been accurate for you guys. I am looking for teh never fails type loads. The load that shoots pretty good in most guns. It is a Kimber full size with fixed sites.
I can buy any powder but have 700x,blue dot,4756, and red dot on hand.
Clean is good, but I want accuracy and superfast is not needed. 750 FPS would be fine. I shoot mostly 185 Grain Custom comps by Nosler as I have quite a few. Jeff

231 is hard to beat, as are Clays or Bullseye. All are about the same speed of burn so the cost is minimal. Around 5.3 to 5.5 grains is good to go.

Re: Help! Need 45ACP Bullseye load

Many good powders available for 45 ACP. I prefer 4.3 grains of Winchester WST over a 200 grain SWC. Worked in every gun I know of so far. I have 8 different 1911s myself. Many of my friends use this load as well. Similar loads are all over the web for bullseye/target shooters.

Here's what I've been running through my Kimber. I like it for punching paper.

Brass-Starline
CCI primer
185 gr. Nosler CC's
4.5 grains of Bullseye

Re: Help! Need 45ACP Bullseye load

I shoot 4.0 gr of bullseye behind a 200gr lead SWC and 3.8 of bullseye behind a 230 fmj which reproduces a good hardball load. Some say bullseye is dirty, and I suppose it is, but it works. VV 310 and 320 are also popular and are seem to be cleaner. I'm sure you can find some loads with those powders.

Check the various bullseye forums.

Good luck.

Re: Help! Need 45ACP Bullseye load

I have found that 5.0 grains Bullseye and Hornady 230 grain XTP bullets are very clost to the factory TAP loads in both penetration and accuracy, just 2 cents worth.

Re: Help! Need 45ACP Bullseye load

5.2gr of Bullseye for me. Under a 230gr Montana Gold JHP.

Re: Help! Need 45ACP Bullseye load

Bulls-eye is a great powder but, very dirty. It was the old standby for many years. WST is cleaner and it has similar characteristics. Other powders to try would be 231 (temperature sensitive), WSF (I use for 250 SWC gr bullets), WSL, Green Dot, Unique (dirty also). With the 45ACP, there's a lot of choices. I've shot more 45 bullets than I care to admit...

5.2 gr titegroup with 230 gr Hornady XTP works well in mine and others that have tried it. We shoot mostly glocks though. ~ 800fps.

Re: Help! Need 45ACP Bullseye load

3.9-4.2g VihtaVuori N-310 with a 200g LSWC. The best combo I have found for indoor and outdoor NRA bullseye shooting. Super clean burning.

My Gold Cup likes 4.2 gr of bullseye under a 200gr. HG 68

Re: Help! Need 45ACP Bullseye load

Of the components you have on hand, I'd start with the Red Dot, then 700x. The other two are more for heavy and fast.

Re: Help! Need 45ACP Bullseye load

With 185 JHP I have no need to look any further than 4.1 - 4.3grs. of N310 with the primer of your choice. Suppressed or comped I have to bump up to 4.7grs. N310. The 4.7grs of N310 is 920 - 940 fps suppressed. I have never chrono'd the 4.1 gr. N310 because it is so accurate I don't care how fast or slow it is.
