Here are a couple of m40a1 "return" stocks...the "SS" (scout sniper) one is killer cool, never seen a beauty like it before.

Re: newest return M40A1 stocks

Crazy, I got it as a McMillan return. I saw guns and gear marked "S"cout "S"niper when I went through the Quantico course back in 1988--common then.
I guess now it’s not politically correct, HA!

Cool, I had the symbol on my helmet when in Somalia back in 1993 and I had General Garrison ask what it represented. I told him it was for "Scout Sniper" and he just smiled and walked away. Ha!

It was still part of our logo in 2005 too. They were cracking down on it pretty hard then though so I'd imagine it didn't last much longer.

Very cool, heck one my snipers in Iraq had the "SS" tattooed on the inside of his lip. People dont understand they are not by any means honoring Hilter and his Storm Troopers. Anyway, I dont understand what a McMillan return is and how you can get it. COuld you please elaborate.

McMillan Stocks in Phoenix worked a deal with the USMC to trade in M40A1 stocks when they went to the next series(M40A3, etc.).
They sold out quickly on this site, but McM had a few left over for themselves.

Give them a call and they will help you out. They also come up from time to time here on the sale board.

Re: newest return M40A1 stocks

I spoke with a lady at Mcmillan and she said they haven't had them in a long time.

Re: newest return M40A1 stocks

yes, these stocks came from the collections of some of the employees; they saw some great stocks come through their door. "They" told me the phone never stopped ringing until they were all sold. ha!

Yes, I understand bro, the media is quick to hurt and pass judgment. I saw a newspaper article about the Corps Commandant and his belief that this type of "symbolism" is from a lack of leadership. I think it's from HIS lack of understanding and distance from HIS men. If he understood he could dispel ignorant press releases and support HIS NCOs. The last thing the “boys” need is a non-supportive public and senior leadership. I for one say to the Corps Scout Snipers, “give em hell boys.”
