Rifle Scopes Base Question

I picked up a used Rem 700 in a trade the other day and it already has a base installed. How can you tell if it is a 20 moa or 0 moa?

The person I got it from doesn't know as it was on the rifle when he got it.

You should clearly see the slant in its a 20 moa. The back will be higher than the front. Take a ruler or any straight edge and put it on the base. It should be very clear if its slanting or not.
