SW Ammo in an M1A

Just picked up an M1A as a test rifle. I just finished testing the 147s, 168s, and 175s out of it this morning.

Didn't put any groups on paper, I was having too much fun shooting steel and the positions from the KD course. All ammo functioned perfectly, and the sights tracked right on with the 147s out to the 300 yard steel at Rio.

Gorgeous rifle, congrats!!! IF you dont mind a recomendation, try the link port samco is selling. Its cheap, and my LRB/TRW loves it, nice cheap ammo.

Ooops sorry I just read the entire post, I get all weak in the knees when I see a M14, I just start sweating and typing! No better weapon to test 7.62 thats for sure!!!

I will be seeing you next week when i pick up my rifle from smith enterprise, i have a circa 1985 Smith ent receiver bedded into a Mcmillan M3A with intergrated cheek riser and its sporting a Krieger medium weight DMR 22" barrel, and soon a nightfor nxs 4.5x15x56mm, i would love to try your 168 grain

This is what my M25 looked like this morning when I dropped it off at the smith. I'll be sure to try out some SW when I get it back in two weeks.

Lord of war: we need to get a competition going once we have our rifles completed.

That is going to be really nice when it's done. Pictures afterwards, we will get some paper shots on paper next time.

No worries, we all love them, even if it may be irrational because we can get a more practical black rifle. I love mine and already told my 5 year old son its his when he is older.

He said, "That's the same rifle on your Marine uniform shooting badge".

I didn't have the heart to tell him its an M1 on the badge, I was too proud that he could see the resemblance.
