7mm RUM and 180 VLd's?

Re: 7mm RUM and 180 VLd's?

I have been shooting the hunting VLDs at 3030 fps with 3 different 7mmRemMag rifles.

The 180 gr VLD hunting is good for getting groups and shooting targets long range, but I got un even effects on game.

Yes.
That was with 70gr Re22 180 gr VLD 3.48" OAL 26" barrel, 78kpsi Quickload
Alliant calls out a maximum of 61 gr Re22 for 175 gr
The SAAMI registered max average for 7mmRM is 61kpsi.
Most book loads are way below SAAMI for 7mmRM.
I loaded 45 rounds of 70 gr Re22 78kpsi QL, shot them, and then checked the brass for primer insertion force on reload. The first 15 were WW brass and felt normal, but the 16th was RP and felt easier than it should be to insert. So I need to reduce.
I usually want to run ~71 kpsi in 7mmRM for long brass life, so I should have known better.
But it is closer to your 7mmRUM velocities with that bullet, so I mentioned it.
