I'm thinking about getting a SN3 TPal 3.2-17 with RDP MOA reticle. This is used so replacing the recticle is not an option. I just want to know if anyone uses the USO RDP MOA reticle.? If so, what are your likes and dislikes?
Thanks

Re: US Optics RDP reticle

I have the rdp reticle and love everything about it except using the Horizontal hashes for holding wind. For people that make turret adjustments for wind, this should not be a problem. The pros: the reticle is fine enough at high magnification for aiming at existing bullet holes in the paper, but coarse enough at low magnification with the duplex style reticle thickness for hunting. Best of both worlds IMHO

Re: US Optics RDP reticle

I am very pleased with the brand. I was pretty big into night force before I got my first us optic scope. The tracking on these things are rock solid and you can really get the 3.2-17x44 down low on your rifle.

Re: US Optics RDP reticle

I owned two RDP-MOA reticle scopes -- one IPHY TPAL, one MOA ERGO. The reticle is awesome if you're looking for the 'jack of all trades' sort of thing.

For the benefits, think along the lines of...

- Bench shooters who love thin reticles like the NF NP-series -- you've got that pinpoint accuracy with the super-fine 0.02 MOA thick -2/+2 subtention
- Practical shooting where you want FFP? USO has it
- In low-mag application some people worry it's too thin, but at the 3-7x zone, use it just like Leupold's TMR reticle with the hollow center
- Worried about only 17x on an ELR set up? That super-fine subtention more than makes up for <20x zoom

For the concerns, and this is <span style="color: #3333FF"><span style="font-weight: bold">personal and subjective</span></span>:

- My mind works better with symmetry -- I couldn't stand the 2MOA elevation and 5MOA windage hashes
- Generally only find used units in MOA/IPHY -- I moved to mil and found I liked other brands more than USO, so they had to go. You can order from USO in Mil, but scaling would be retarded with major elevation hashes at 2.5 and 5.
- I moved to strictly practical shooting -- my tastes quickly shifted to thicker reticles. Again, with the 'subjective' disclaimer, take note that lately I am finding the S&B P4f too thin for my tastes and most people love it.

Fwiw, I like the USO 3.2-17x RDP more than the NF 5.5-22 NP-R2.
