This is prolly belongs in another section, but since this is where I loiter most, it seems most appropriate.

I'll be out of the shop and off the radar this week starting mid day Wednesday. Next Monday I'll be back at it again.

My one 4 day vacation a year-although the misses has informed me that were going camping in July this year too. . .

Garrett should be here all week so if you have questions, feel free to give us a hollar.

    Thanks,

    C.

    The Yak is ready!

I got my brakes made so that I can stop this bugger! The wheels rolled so good that I couldn't get my idle adjusted down far enough.

    Problem solved!

Hell on tires though. This is after the 2nd flight. I've got over 15 on it now and the tires look like top fueler meats. Sure does handle good on the ground though!

That plane is awesome! I have always wanted to get into RC planes, just have too many other hobbies.

Do planes of that size typically have brakes or was that something your twisted mind came up with?

Looking frigging awesome there boss! I've always liked R/C anything , at one point I had a dozen or so nitro cars and trucks even tried a couple 1/4 scales for awhile. Now I am messing with helies. Fun stuff!

Not that I know of. Least not around here anyway. Most fields for planes like this are grass. The grass provides enough resistance so that they taxi well enough. I fly on asphalt mostly. This is why I made them.

Do you just have constant tension on those brakes, or are you going to run a cable down to them from the throttle channel and setup the throttle with an idle stop and a spring like on a gas RC car with disc brakes?

    Re: Little announcement

    Constant tension.

Doesn't matter anymore anyway. I don't have the plane cause I traded straight across for a different one.

The green Yak 54 was a 36% of scale powered by a 100cc twin 2S.

New one is a 40lb 42% Slick 540 powered by a 150cc engine! It's two years older, but a much, much, much bigger plane. 126" wing on this bugger!

Guy built it and couldn't fit it in his truck and he didn't own a trailer. He liked mine, so we did some swapping and I ended up with a $8000 plane for the cost of building mine. (about 5200)

    Not bad!

Also got rid of my little 200mph racer for a 60cc 300 extra. It's more like a radio controlled kite than an airplane. It does some crazy chit!

Good times this weekend for sure.

    Back to work!
