I had a FTF the other day with a 308 ar where it seems somehow the edge of the neck of the brass caught on something pushing that section of the neck back and outward about a millimeter. So that the round would not chamber (FGMM 168). Today at home I sanded the neck down a bit and now the round will chamber again. Is this round safe to use?

"..the edge of the neck of the brass caught .."

I don't quite know what you mean about the edge of the neck got caught; do you mean the mouth was deformed by the chamber? If so, it's quite possible your case is/was too long and needed trimming to length. Sanding isn't the normal way to trim cases but it will surely work.

Lee's case trimmer tools work fine and they don't cost a lot.

yes, it is safe to shoot but i wouldn't use that case a match anymore, you should have pulled the bullet, full length sized it and reloaded it.
if you don't reload, recycle it.
hope this helps.
