Best of the West in Liberty Hill (near Leander in NW austin) has 1000 yard steel.

Re: TEXAS

For any of the rimfire guys...I will be at Pearland shooting a rimfire silhouette shoot on the 28th of this month. I will have 3 of my rifles with me, if anybody wants to come out and learn a new discipline.

Re: TEXAS

West side of Houston not more that 10 miles from ASC. Just getting into the long range precision arena, but have done a fair amount of pistol and carbine work with a local training cadre.

I'd love to meet up with anyone out at ASC to start learning the ropes on the weekends.

Re: TEXAS

Arlington here. Moved from Indiana about a year and a half ago, loving it so far.

I need more time behind my rifle, but I hope to shoot some matches the first chance I get.

Re: TEXAS

hey, anybody up for hitting up the range later this week?

also Saturday i am shooting a small bore silhouette match at pearland.

Fort Worth here too. Right now I shoot at Alpine Shooting Range (about 15 minutes south of Fort Worth), and once I get out past 100 yards (I'm just starting out shooting), I'll either head out west to Tac Pro in Mingus or east and north to Top Gun Shooting Club in Leonard.

Re: TEXAS

Anyone around Midland on here? I'm hauling a load of stuff down there for a friend next week, & would like to do some shooting while I'm there. Maybe bust a hog? Probably have to be thurs-fri. As I'll be heading back north sat.

I'm out here and we have a few nice shooting locations, but I'll be out of town those days.

Re: TEXAS

Too bad. Being from the pac-nw I rarely get to shoot in wind that is anything like consistent, or over flat ground. We don't have pigs up here either. Always wanted to get a pig. I hope there's someone else down there who could show a furriner where some good spots are.

Re: TEXAS

if any houston guys need to use a chronograph or want to check out the new MagnetoSpeed Chrono i will be checking my new one out friday morning at american shooting centers.

Re: TEXAS

San Antonio here, Usually hit BulletHole for local play or Best of the West for my .308 playtime. Been to BlackHawk and have yet to hit the one in Bastrop(can't recall name).

Re: TEXAS

Looking for some people to link up with in the Houston area, I am out of the Baytown area, shooting is one of my passions but damn does it get boring by yourself all the time. PM me if you wanna go shoot.

Re: TEXAS

Sherman here, about an hour north of DFW (10hrs if traffic is bad). I just got back from Top Gun Shooters Club last week and thought I would send anyone that way that was looking. Located in Leonard Texas. They run out to 500yds with seated and prone locations. Great people as well. Give me a hollar if your on your way out there.

Re: TEXAS

My buddies in Houston come to BOTW in liberty hill for long range. We have a few clubs here, Austin Rifle Club in Manor/Elgin area, and Eagle Peak in Jonestown near Lakeway.

I hear there is a 1500 yard range in Dallas, is it open yet?

Re: TEXAS

Beaumont here. Not much LR stuff around here to choose from. I think Golden Triangle range goes to 600yrd but 100yrd and 200yrd is pretty much it anywhere else.

Re: TEXAS

North East Texas Tactical was open for a while, and they go out to 1500yds, but there were some stupid complaints about noise or safety or something, and now there's some big legislative hooplah. You can check out what they say about it on their website (http://www.northeasttexastactical.com/)

Hopefully all this nonsense fades away and they reopen.

Re: TEXAS

Yeah "A Place To Shoot" was closed down here on the SE side of SA due to Golfers getting hit my stray bullets...

The whole problem is there are also private land owners between the range and the golf course that also shoot in the land. No one was actually injured or killed just got "thumped" by some lead.

Re: TEXAS

No one even got hit, that I know of! From what I hear, it's all because some well-connected neighbor (who lives something like 15mi away from the range) complained about the range just being there. It's all a huge load...

Re: TEXAS

I'm in East Texas in Nacogdoches, but moving to Tyler next month. Anyone know of a good range that goes past 200 yards?
If not, I guess I'll just become a member at CSAT in Nacogdoches which goes out to 700 yards.

If anyone wants to go shoot sometime, hit me up.

Is that place just a training facility? I just want to go shoot.
I hardly think of the DFW area as east Texas..

Re: TEXAS

I just moved from Lenexa, Kansas and was a member of the Mill Creek Rifle club and now I live in Plano. Does anyone know of a club or pay range that goes out to 300-500 yards?

Re: TEXAS

Does Paul sell memberships at CSAT? I thought that was just a training facility not generally accessible to the public.

Saleen

Yes. I think memberships are $400/year
If your military or LEO, they offer a discount

Top Gun in Leonard. About a 40 to 45 minute drive depending on what part of Plano you are in. Range goes to 500 yds.

Hey, kinda new to the Austin area. I have been to BOTW a buncha times, but not the other clubs. Would you recommend the ARC for practical/tactical shoots. Would like to get into some weekend shoots.
