I am setting up a build on a savage 10FPSR in 308 and have decided on the Bell and Carlson medalist to set her in. I am essentially planning on getting the grey spiderweb version (ie black with grey "spiderwebbing") ,but I cannot find any pictures with this color actually mounted on a rifle. The stock photos are good and all, but to get an idea of what it will really look like it would be nice to see the complete package. Im also considering the plain black model, but I am not opposed to seeing some of the others as well if you've got the pics!

This is the first picture that comes up if you google "savage grey medalist".

This is the second.

I think you'd be happy with the Medalist. They are on the heavy side, and the forearm isn't very ergonomic, but I've owned three along the way and they've all been very accurate on my Savages.

olive with black is mine. the black with red is one I just put together for a buddy at work. they are a little heavy (but that is good imo). I have heard of people having fitment issues with them but I have not. NON bedded 700 action in mine and it shoots .30 moa consistently with FGMM

Is that a VTR barrel in yours? Any thoughts about it?

I hear a lot of talk about how bad they are. I bought it from a buddy in factory condition in the box for $200 with 20 rounds down the pipe. I figured for 200 it was worth it for the action. I did all the usual to it, trigger, stock, bottom metal and glass. I figured I would order a barrel right away until I shot it. Using FGMM It is sub 1/2 moa every time. When I do my part it puts 5 shots .30 moa with my cold bore being 1/2" left 1/2" high. I will still rebarrel and have the action trued but not until this barrel gets another 2 or 3 thousand rounds through it.

That looks like a shooter, Caleb. I have also heard bad or indifferent reviews, so I was just curious. My uncle has one in .223 that I really ought to try out myself sometime as well.

I shot a match a couple weeks ago with a guy that just rebarrel his vtr. he had the same accuracy that I do with mine. we had a small discussion on maybe it was the people behind the trigger and not the gun

+1 on the VTR. I also have one that after basic work on the trigger and stock, will shoot 1/2 moa if I do my part.
