Recently purchased a remington 700 AAC-SD and a Viper Vortex 6.5-20x50 scope. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a good base and rings.I want a 20 MOA single piece base, but all the ones I can find say they need gunsmithing to be installed. Any ideas?

Re: SCOPE MOUNTING HELP NEEDED!!!!!

No need to have a gunsmith mount your base or rings. For less expensive look at EGW, or Seekins. For top of the line I like Badger.

Re: SCOPE MOUNTING HELP NEEDED!!!!!

+1 on EGW for a low cost good base or the a little more $ get the Seekins but you can't go wrong with the EGW. There is no need for a gunsmith to mount the base? Do a search on here for mounting? It is no big deal!
You will be very happy with your equipment choices.

Re: SCOPE MOUNTING HELP NEEDED!!!!!

Seekins all the way. Best value imho, lightweight too and will last you a lifetime.

There are several hide vendors that sell them.

Re: SCOPE MOUNTING HELP NEEDED!!!!!

Badger and Nightforce both make great one piece mounts. Feeler gauge method is great way to mount as per Lowlight's instructions.
