Right out of the box it feels very sturdy. almost like it could be used as a club ha ha. The clicks feel nice and solid. Numbers stayed lined up while maxing elevation top to bottom. I had a Nikon buckmasters 6x18-40, and i think the glass is just as good with this scope or better.

I put it on my CZ 452 scout. Zeroed at 25 yards. did some test. shoot, dial a mil shoot dial a mil ect. up to 10 mil and each hole lined up perfectly with the mil dots (diamonds) then took it out to 215 yards. 7.8 mil and a 1.5 for wind. its really nice being able to see your miss, measure with crosshairs then dial and hit! over all im very happy with it

Anyone on the fence about getting one of these. Right now it seems like a great deal! we will see how it does in the long run. I crank knobs ALOT.

I want to get some shorter rings but not sure how low i should go with how close the bolt already is...

Man, that through scope picture of the robin looks fake its so good.. one of the best I've seen.

The reticle is great and 16x is where I have ended up running my 5-20 most of the time.

Makes a super scope for a .22 trainer or anything else. Welcome to the wonderful world of matching turrets/adjustments. It will be very unlikely you will want to go back.

I've been looking hard at these for my AR. I was thinking the 16x would be about as much as you could use on a real hot day.

Re: First Impressions SWFA SS 16x42 Mil-Quad

Got to do some more serious shooting, gathering dope for this coming weekends shoot. I tell you what i REALLLLLLY like this scope. its so sweet to shoot a group at a distance you haven't shot at before, measure the difference in elevation with the reticle and add it the turret then right it down.

And as far as it being 16x i could see my holes in paper at 200 yards. and shooting off hand at 25 yards wasn't to bad.

oh and the glass.... imo i think its great for the money. more then what you pay for!

Let us know how well you can see just as it is getting light or dark with different backgrounds will you? I understand the 16x will "wash out" Thank you.

Re: First Impressions SWFA SS 16x42 Mil-Quad

Hey cool!!! I'm glad I saw this, thanks OP!! I was just today looking at this one on SWFA website. I'm thinking if I pull the lever on a scope for the range it will be this one or the 12x. I have 1.5-6x on my .308 AR but want more precision & mag for the range. I have the new SWFA SS 1-6x24 coming soon but still for the money this 16x42 looks real good.

Just shot with the scope tonight, my friend got his Viper PST, it was 9:30 at night. his scope kicked this one in the nutz as far as low light shooting went
