U.S optics 10 x mil dot too much fo a rem 40x?

Re: U.S optics 10 x mil dot too much fo a rem 40x?

It'll work, but definitely far from ideal.

You're not going to be able to really test that 40X with a 10 power scope. The mildot is worthless for this setup, nothing to holdover for at 50 yards.

The proper scope for a 40X in benchrest is a fixed 35/40/45 power Leupold Competition series with a fine target reticle.

It'll cost a heck of a lot less and be infinitely more appropriate.

But hey, if you want to put an ACOG on your 50 BMG Barrett, waste that money.

Works? Yah.

If you can afford it then go for it. The best option for a trainer for a centerfire is to have the same scope on both rifles to keep the controls consistent between them. I'm not sure what specific model you're looking at but be sure to get one with adjustable parallax if you can, if it can adjust down to 50 yards then it should work fine. I think I read on here that you can custom order scopes from USO that will adjust down to 10 yards which would be great if you ever planned on shooting at 50 ft in the future.

Of course if you're planning on shooting benchrest comps with this rifle then get a scope suited for that purpose.

hmmmmm.....I would say yes it would work great. I compete with these rifles below. All 3 are 40xb's and all 3 use USO ST-10 scopes. However they all have parallax adjustment. We compete from 56yards to 212yards so the scope must be repeatable--this is where USO comes in for me.

Hope this helps,

You'll have to check USO's data...I would bet it would work but why not get something cheaper that would work just as good?

I can't talk much...I got a MK4 on mine.

The st-10 works great on the 22's. It is well worth the extra for the ergo adjustment though. I have two one with and one without. I thought id save a few bucks by not getting the ergo, and it went back to have it upgraded within a week.
