If you are shooting from a nicely mowed area, a bench, a deck, or other prepared place, the 6-9 is fine. If you plan on plopping down on a patch of field somewhere, the 9-13 is much better since you likely don't carry a weed eater in your kit with you. I'm all about the 9-13 leg notch swivel. If I want to get really low, fold the bipod, use a pack or my rear bag (triad wedgie) as a rest on the front and go to work. The taller bipod works much better in the real world.
