Also is it possible to install a DBM in place of the factory bottom metal without causing issues with the rest of the rifle? I was looking at either surgeon or badger.
I had GAP open my barrel channel and inlet for a Badger bottom metal, the only issue you may have is if your using a larger recoil lug which can be shortened on a mill, not advised to go to deep, the strength will reduced if you remove the aluminum under lug area.
The shell on the HS stocks is pretty fragile. I have opened quite a few and it takes a special touch without making it look like crap. If you are thinking of having it inlet for a badger DBM anyway, just send it to GAP with your barreled action and let me fit everything. Our turn around is pretty quick for this type of work.
Thanks for the input wish I would have known about the quick turnaround at gap or I would have sent everything to you guys. I had already dropped everything off at the local gunsmiths. Shoot me a pm about turnaround time for A 260 build that I will have all the parts for by the end of next week.
