Free floating and pillar mounts on Rem 700 var

What's the best way to free float the barrel and install pillar mounts on a rem 700 heavy barrel varmint. 308? Or is it worth it to just buy an afterm
arket stock?

If you're planning to do this with the Remington Tupperware stock, I would recommend looking at a good aftermarket stock. The end result will be more satisfying imo.

I also have a SPS-V. From every forum on every sight I've read on mod'ing this stock, its not worth it. The general opinion is that by the time you inlet and reinforce to prevent flex your time and effort would have been better served with an aftermarket stock. Mine flexed out of the box.
