I know, I know, not a ton of KAC fans here, but I am curious to know if anyone has shot any of the 2012 rifles. I have heard the newer suff is quite accurate, and am curious how these are shooting. Expensive, but nice looking rifle for sure.

Thanks,

-Bob

Re: SR-25 ECC

My pops just got the ECR and it is looking pretty promising. We haven't shot any 175 grain bullets out of it yet but we shot some Federal Gold Match 168s and it did pretty well. We are going to be doing a comparison shoot here soon with the ECR, OBR and Les Baer 308. I'll post results in the coming weeks. This ECR came with a shot log and they had fired 68 rounds through the gun before it left Knight's factory. Unlike Larue, they included the actual test target and it had 4 shots in 2 holes and 1 outlier. This ECR came with their own muzzle device that works with their QDS cans but I'm taking that off and putting the surefire overlap on it.

Re: SR-25 ECC

Ive got the EMC, which is the equivalent internally. The only difference between the ECC and EMC is the ECC comes with the 3.1 rail vs. URXII, their muzzle device, and 45 degree offset sights. Mine consistently shoot 3/4 MOA. I am soon switching my URX II to a URX 3.1, so I will essentially have a ECC, the only difference will be that I use the SF brake to mate with my SF can. The EMC is happy shooting 5 rounds in 5 minutes as a LR Rig or blasting through 147gr PMC as a battle rifle. While they carry a hefty tag, they are good rifles.

Re: SR-25 ECC

Glad to hear it. Shane45 is reporting excellent accuracy as well. Consistent 3/4 moa would be acceptable to me for a rifle like this.

Re: SR-25 ECC

The ECC is my next rifle. EC is great too but the ECC has all the latest stuff on it. Can't wait to get mine.

If anyone has time can you post up some pic's and targets?

Re: SR-25 ECC

This thread needs some more pictures!

I'm pretty much set on the ECC.. A friend of mine has the EC and I've seen him print 1/2 moa groups consistently.

Re: SR-25 ECC

Here is my EMC soon to be an "ECC". I have the URX 3.1 coming for the SR25

Re: SR-25 ECC

We got one in work yesterday and I have to say that it was hard fighting off the urge to order another one for myself. Hopefully I'll have a range report from our customer after this weekend on how it shoots. Test target was right at 1MOA but it had a flyer on there.

Re: SR-25 ECC

Depends on where you buy from.

From Lawmen's
ECC $4900
EC $3900

Re: SR-25 ECC

I just completed making my sr25 mk11 carbine all jersey legal. The MK11 carbine was a limited run (supposedly) that basically sat in a corner til they decided to sell em to the public. I pulled the trigger on it mostly because the mk11 carbines come with a 16" match grade obermeyer stainless barrel as opposed the to chrome lined they usually do. Its has the urxII and I put a surefire sr25k brake on her and a sr25 prs stock. I'll get a few pictures up in a day or so. Really it was a bargain at 4k, whereas most of the emcs were close to 5 unless you picked one up used. the test target easily shows sub moa. I plan on running FGMM 175 or the 168 through it. Kevin basically described it as a short sniper rifle. I'm pretty stoked to see how it performs

Re: SR-25 ECC

Are you LEO? Good price either way.

My LGS

ECC $5480
EC $4170

Re: SR-25 ECC

Yes, I dont think I could justify over $5000 for any one rifle. Very expensive, yes. Worth it, you bet. Glad KAC takes care of LE/MIL. Mine will be wearing a leupy mark 6 1-6 here shortly.

I'm assuming your not talking about the OBR heavy or get some type of discount. Because it hasn't been sub 3k in years.

Not even close, the OBR 7.62 base ( A2 flash hider and stock) 3,370.00
Magpul CTR-90
Required hardware to run a collapsible stock-55
SF Muzzle brake 150

Total: 3655.00

Kind of close in pricing wouldn't you say

Re: SR-25 ECC

Roger with discount, 20 Inch LaRue Tactical OBR (Optimized Battle Rifle) Complete 7.62 Rifle for 2591.32 (shipping and handling included)

Does KAC match that? I'm just not a fan of the M110's, haven't been since 2007 with one of the first fieldings of the M110 with SN#00008.

But I never fired an SR-25 ECC, and I'm always up for a new and improved gun. Just need to know what it offers over the OBR.

Re: SR-25 ECC

it doesn't offer anything over the ECC/EMC, with the discount that KAC gives LE/Mil I have no idea what the price point is. The only real difference in the OBR and EMC/ECC is the gas system, KAC is a rifle length on 16" guns, not sure what the 16" OBR is.

The M110 and the Ehanced Series are alot different

Is that price legit even with the 12% markup to $3400 after 1 JUL?

Yup.

Every KAC thread get's taken over with the same homo's bashing em.

Re: SR-25 ECC

There could be Other differences but the ones I am aware of are:
Rifle length gas vs mid
Weight
Ambi lower
Chrome lined vs ss

Again I am comparing the EMC/ECC to the 16" OBR

Re: SR-25 ECC

I purchased both recently. I kept the SR25. I even had a thread on it, including a comparison between the two which I reluctantly posted here.

The OBR is a nice rifle, but the SR25's a better deal.

You realize when Pack Larue gets word of this....they are going to murder you.

Which is why it hasn't been posted in several locations.

I'm not a high speed door kicker like some here. I'm an enginerd who tests heavy equipment for a living. I came to this conclusion the way I reach any other, by using spreadsheets and a direct side by side comparison. It may upset some folks, but the data is on my side. . . .

Re: SR-25 ECC

I want a rifle that provides my team with a light weight, 1MOA or better accuracy, ambi control rifle in an 18" or 20" .308 platform and customer service that gives a damn and goes out of their way to assist with any issues that may arise.

Reliability and accuracy are my main concerns. Weight and ambi controls follow second.

Could you PM me your report Krazny? Email ect.. I would appreciate that.

I just placed the LT guys a friendly call. As long as anything was ordered before 1 JUL, that 2560 is honored. Now, with MIL/LE discount, it takes the 12% markup into account and the price is now is $3033.

Re: SR-25 ECC

Yeah I placed it in Jan. so it's locked in. I am upset though that the proposed 3-4 month wait time that was given has turned into 7 months with no definite answer on the next batch. That kind of pissed me off since my teams first OBR was obtained within 40 days total wait time. With International coming up I need our second gun and right now that's a no go.

I would take a serious look at the ECR.

Re: SR-25 ECC

"Reliability and accuracy are my main concerns."
This doesnt seem to be a concern with either so you have to look at what is next on the important list

"Weight and ambi controls follow second."
The weight and balance of my EMC is much better than my partners OBR IMO. Both are 16" barrels.

KAC's working with me, hopefully we can get something together. In my book, customer service is very important. +1 KAC</div></div>

A big reason why I won't buy anymore larue stuff without getting into it. I have been very impressed with KAC customer service.

Re: SR-25 ECC

The ER or an EMR would serve you better. The ECR upgrades over the ER/EMR are the URX 3.1 rail, KAC qd can flash hider, 45 degree angle sights.

Personally if I were looking for a 20" gas gun, it would be at the EMR.

Additionally
it has the Lmt coll. stock worth another 200 bucks
and
a special bolt carrier gr. which is suppose to cut carbon.
