I have a question running over in the Basic Marksmanship but maybe I can get a simpler answer here.
I'm shooting the dot drill with a Bushnell FFP 3-12x and my reticle pretty much covers the dot. What are you guys doing to deal with an issue like this? Live with it? Maybe hold off a little? I just don't feel like I'm doing myself any good aiming at something I can barely make out.

Re: Reticle obscuring target

With an FFP scope turning the magnification won't help! Magnification down=smaller target=smaller ret. but, still proportionally the same size as before. That's the whole idea of FFP!

For the dot drill make adj to hold the ret with the dot nestled into the corner of the reticle. Which quadrant is your choice! So basically you have a slight hold off but adj your scope to correct for it!

Somewhere on here someone else explained this with pictures!

Re: Reticle obscuring target

Put the dot in the corner of the reticle where the vertical and horizontal lines meet, say at 10 o'clock, then add a click up and left to compensate.

Re: Reticle obscuring target

Like other guys have said hold off and deal with it, or get your self SFP scope? I was going to get a FFP scope but did alittle more research with the kind of shooting that i'm going to do, found out that i'm going to need a SFP scope for my application.
