I got a phone call last night and it turns out I won the AZ Big Game Super Raffle Swarovski optics package.

Now I need some help pricing this stuff out for sale. I've looked at Euro Optics and SWFA. Any place else I should look?

I want to give fair prices on this stuff and I'll probably put it up for sale here first.

I won:

15X56 SLC Bino's
10X42 EL Rangefinder Bino's
Z5 5-25X52 Ballistic Turrent scope
STM 65 HD Spotter with wide angle 25-50 eye piece

Everything but the EL's will be here in about 2 weeks. The EL's are on back order for a month or so.

First time I've ever won anything over $100 in my life.

*Fellas, I'm not taking offers. I'm certainly not interested in trades for anything I've won.

*I know I'll have to pay taxes.

Re: I won $9300 of Swarovski optics

I'll give you $200 for all of it

congrats man!! </div></div>

Thanks!

I have a pair of 10X42 SLC's that I bought in 2004 that I'm selling to a friend and I'm going to add it to the cash I get from these sales and replace them with a newer pair.

I was way more interested in the tags and the New Mexico elk hunt they gave away than the optics prize, but I'll take it.

My schedule knocks me out of most of the hunting seasons in the US, except for Kansas deer season which I try to make every other year.

It doesn't fit any of my needs. I already have a Zeiss rangefinder, the SLC binoculars are too large for my taste (I already have a pair of 10X42 SLC's), I don't hunt anywhere where I need a spotting scope and the rifle scope is not in the power range I want.

I need a couple of mid range (3-18) scopes for two rifles I have that are naked right now and I need a Aimpoint M4 or Micro for my LWRC SBR.

I'll trade you ANY aimpoint for the spotter.

I'm feeling generous. Make it 2 aimpoints.

He will not have any choice. The raffle sponsor will send him a 1099 or whatever the equivalent is for this raffel.

I had a friend win season tickets for hockey. It was a great deal till he had to pay the tax.

Re: I won $9300 of Swarovski optics

I dont know how to price it, but you are one lucky dude. Go by yourself some powerball tickets immediately.

I actually picked up some powerball tickets today. Lol.

Re: I won $9300 of Swarovski optics

Congradulations, enjoy it while you can!

Later on when the IRS comes looking for their $3,000 or more based off the full inflated MSRP it's going to be a bit less fun to write out the tax check.

I already know how much the taxes are going to be and you're several hundred dollars over.

Thanks for trying to rain on my parade. I appreciate it. No really.

Re: I won $9300 of Swarovski optics

I used to enter sweepstakes for a hobby. Most days were about 200-300 sweeps a day. Some of the "pros" win amazing stuff all the time! But I would have LOVED to win your package!! Huge congrats!!
Oh and don't let the jealous a$%holes rain on your parade!!

Re: I won $9300 of Swarovski optics

Awesome Congradulations!!! You hit the mother load!!!! I think I'd rather win something like that than the money... Then my wife couldn't spend it!!!! LOL!!!

Congrats Again!!!

Re: I won $9300 of Swarovski optics

That is seriously sweet! Congrats! Looks like you got quite a package deal.

Re: I won $9300 of Swarovski optics

To add to it, I had a Mega Money ticket that I bought probably 3 weeks ago that I cashed in today for $48. That brings me up to $9448 for the last 6 or 7 weeks, including the $100 Mega Millions ticket I bought in Missouri last month.

Come on Powerball!

Re: I won $9300 of Swarovski optics

Congratulations, but expect a 1099 for the full list price of every item you won.

Jesus Christ in a chicken basket. I know I'm going to have to pay taxes for fucks sake. It won't be a 1099, it'll be a W-2G.

I bet you fuckers tell your friends that have a newborn baby they're gonna grow up and wear a paper hat at work for their entire adult life. Holy shit.

I have to wear a hair net and beard guard myself when I do inspections at food processing facilities. Thankfully that's only a couple times a year and usually in a foreign country.

When I won a roundtrip anywhere for two on Southwest Airlines, they sent me a 1099 for the max possible fare (20 years ago). I found and documented the very cheapest fare to the destination we chose and my tax guy reduced the value of the trip to that amount - no trouble from the IRS. In your case you could reduce the value of each item to the cheapest price you can find; if the items have been opened and displayed, you could find the lowest price on a used item. I love kids, so no thoughts of paper hats here. Have fun with your toyz!

PS I see that you're selling your booty and not keeping it. In that case you can use the price you sell it for as the fair market value. While some people look at internet retail prices (e.g., Europtics and CS Tactical), you can look on eBay and GunBroker for actual private party sale prices.

Thanks for the tip!

Hopefully I'll get everything but the EL's this week.
