I shoot with gloves about 90 percent of the time and have a couple friends who stipple, i tried a new guy this time and like it so far, the ol g21 still needs a couple other things till its really how i like it (10-8 sights, extended mag release and slide stop) but its getting there.

Joe do u use the Gen 3 or 4 . i had a huge problem with the Gen 4 G17 with erratic ejection shooting brass towards my face. i had one brass case hit my hat and set the case behind my safety glasses and sit on the top of my cheek close to my eye. talk about moving fast to get that out lol.

When I do mine I take the sandpaper wheel (Dremel) and remove the existing texture, remove at least that depth across the entire grip, knock down the height of (slightly) and open up the radius of the finger grooves, high cut under the trigger guard, and cut a radiused half circle on the sides of the bottom of the mag well (easier to rip a stuck mag out of the bottom). I use the Dremel to judiciously and fit the frame to my hand. By working the boxy feeling (rectangular) portions of the grip, it ends up fittting my hand better, being more rounded as opposed to square, and overal - smaller.

Then using a point tip (that I ground a little flatter to make the point a little more blunt and thus slightly larger) I start making dimples. I try to burn in at a consistent depth with each effort, and I only work area about a quarter in size at a time, then flip the frame and work an area as far away as I can (avoid adding too much heat to any one part of the frame) . [Remember to do this in a well ventilated space - it is poison right?]

Over time they look a little skanky b/c of the DNA that builds up in the divots, but it is so much better than the slick stock frame. I think I may end up doing my MP5 lower like this too.

It is something everyone can do and it is a major improvement.

Good luck
