Ive been contacting a few vendors on here and other places to get a torso made up.Long story short, I settled with http://www.jcsteeltargets.com/ JCvibby ( JC Steels ) here on the Hide. He didnt know what he was getting himself into, haha. I had a very strict idea on what I wanted. Luckily for me, he let me play with my ideas and run. He said to get something down digitally and let him take a look at it. I came up with a torso sized target and changed the sizes a bit to what I was looking for.I first printed it out on paper using a "posterize" program.

I didnt have to do many changes as it turned out pretty close to what I was looking for. Then I traced the paper version to cardboard for a more real feel target. ( you can see the cardboard under the paper )

JC said it would work out fine, and he would water jet it out as soon as he had the sheet filled up with other targets. I waited about 2 weeks and it was done and shipped. He had to change the final dimensions a bit, but Im still satisfied. And being that he never done this before and I had given him something that I fabbed up, all in all it came out great. Here is the final target setup on the stand.

As you can see I used a 4x4 ( I had to cut it down to 3 1/8 square to fit into my steel square tube I had on hand ), and I made an " H " style base ( it should actually be spun around the other way. ) with holes drilled into the front of the base to help eliminate any tipping backwards ( I think it should be fine )

Also here is the backing plate I used on the ar500 steel target. I angled it downward as we know to help eliminate any ricochets that could happen.

The height is the only thing I would change. Its not over 6' but damn close. I may shorten it a bit to again eliminate and give it less " tipping over height " when the bullet impacts the steel. I will decide this when I have it on the range.

Also if anyone else is interested,I think he is going to start to produce these. If you guys end up getting one, please post up here and let us know how you liked it. I like the design, just wish it was a little bit long from the head to the waist. The target is around 24" high now, I was aiming for 27". But like I said it was a test run and turned out not bad for the first one.

Thanks JcVibby.

Nice! You should draw a face on it.

The ears are a bit funny to me, will you really count those as hits?

Mr. One, your brackets, stand and everything turned out very nice!! Well done, glad you like the target.

Yeah, I see what you mean now that you have it painted up and mounted. Another couple inches on the bottom would be nice to create a little more torso.

BUT, that honestly looks really awesome!! Happy shooting

Great effort on both your parts. Target looks great. I would also like to see about four to six inches of more torso. I'm just thinking about looking at it at 1000 yards.
