Re: Remington Model 37
COPIED AND PASTED FROM ANOTHER QUESTION ABOUT A 37 i gave to a guy on the value of his 37, some good links and stuff (in the end it appears it's the "parent" of the 40X:
i did a quick search, just by looking at photos of like rifles on auction sites (gunsamerica, etc.) it looks as if the price range is correct.
condition is the #1 factor, looks as if yours is original stock, sites, etc., and hasn't been "restored" - to true collectors, this is a plus.
on the flip side looks as if yours has some rusty spots on it (which gives it character, and depending on the buyer, sort of confirms that it original and not messed with.)
i found this, i don't have a login nor wish to, but you can if you want. looks like they have average prices depending on condition, just by photos i'd say yours is in the higher end of "good" condition, bordering on "very good" or lower end of "very good"
http://www.pooshka.com/gun-value.php?poo_model_id=10635 i can't see from your pictures, but if it has the "barrel band" at the end (beginning, depending on how you look at things) of the forestock, it's worth more as it's rarer.
this is from 2005

there's some good information here too:
http://rimfireshooting.com/index.php?showtopic=7604 http://www.remington.com/products/archived/rimfire/bolt-action/model-37.aspx from what i can tell remington made this rifle to run with the winchester 52, and was the predecessor to the legendary 40X. this was (the 40X & the 37) the top of the line rifle of it's day, and probably can still run with today's anschutz rifles - it's reported to be that good, and only 12,200 produced from the 1930's to the 1950's when the remington 40x's, 513's, and other 500 series rimfires dominated everything from the olympics, to camp perry, to nra compitition.
i wouldn't sell it at all, however it would have to take a stab that a starting bid of $750 would not be unresonable if i were to sell it. or a $900.00 OBO kind of deal, you'll probably pull in 825-850 ish, possibly even up to $1,000 at an auction that has true rimfire junkies at it, or firearms collectors that have an actual clue to what this rifle is. benchrest shooter's and prone silhouette shooters love this rifle, so you may even get the better end of a bidding war.
looks like your stock is in great / excellent shape, don't know if it was redone, hopefully it wasn't.
