The 2012 Louisiana State Championship will be held 10/6 and 7 at Palo Alto Rifle and Pistol Club in Donaldsonville, LA.

The match will be open to Prone, F-Open and F-TR classes. And will consist of 120 rounds plus sighters fired over the 2 days.

The match will be held to the first 60 shooters to register. PM myself, Ritten or Mickeyb on here for more details. If you would like the forms to register, please include an email address.

You do not have to be a Louisiana Resident to be crowned state champion.

I dont think it should be changed. If there is not some one local and from Louisiana that can win on a home range. They need to teach people to shoot better there

How about a 4-man Team challenge match after Day 1? Say each shooter 15 rounds + 2 sighters. Team Texas vs Team LA?

Just for fun and bragging rights? Let the trash talking begin.

They used to have two man team matches. May be something we can look into.

Texas did a 2-man team match on Friday. 30 shots each man. It was great for sighting in and getting used to the range. It was $10.00 I think per shooter. I showed up solo and they paired me up. No sign up until the match on the team match

Yep, Alton (from MISSISSIPPI) is the Texas F-Open champ.
Maybe he can hold a class for those Texas guys to give them a little learning.

Alton is a great shooter and rifle builder. One of the nicest guys I know. Good for him for taking the win, I am happy for him.

Not wanting to get caught in a Texas/Louisiana/Mississippi bash-a-thon but who cares where a person is from, if he wants to drive to shoot a match, he should be able to win it.

Im all for a Texas VS lou. team match. All i have to do now is learn to shoot F/TR. I should be able to do that by match time.

If we hold the side-match (and that has not been decided yet) any competitor will be allowed to shoot. To make it fair, there would need to be some type of point system according to class/classification.
Not fair for a FTR Expert to shoot headsup against an Open High Master.
Plenty of time to think through and work this out.

I agree, they run a first class business and are great to deal with. I purchased two Nightforce scopes with them and many bullets.

Man I'm ready for this match. I will definitely need a break by then. Thanks to the guys at Palo Alto; Rick, Mickey & Ted for holding this match and Thanks to the sponsors that have contributed to the prize table. I look for any opportunity to do business with the sponsors of the various matches, always a win/win situation.

Our sponsors were really generous this year. We definitely need to support them. Rick may be able to give us teaser on totals of the prize table.

You can wear it ONLY because the season opener was delayed. Otherwise, you would be too ashamed to display it!!
