Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a replacement recoil pad for my 111 LRH? It was involved in a traject accident and I need a new one. Wondering if I can get one without calling savage. I'ved tried twice and have not been able to get ahold of anyone. Any help would be great!!

Re: recoil pad on savage 111

I would go and get a Limb Saver or Pachmyer grind to fit recoil pad. The have them at most sporting goods stores for around $30-40. Make sure that you put WD 40 on your sander or whatever you use to grind it down so you have clean sides.

Good Luck!!!

Is the grind to fit simple or do you have to really know what your doing?

Go to gunparts.com I'm sure they have what you seek.

Re: recoil pad on savage 111

The grind to fit pads are very easy. I put masking tape on the hard plastic side, and attach the pad to the rifle. I then mark the outline on the masking tape and take that to my belt sander (remembering to spray the belt with WD40), and start grinding down the pad. Then when I get close I will start removing very little at a time, checking to make sure that the pad is still larger than the stock. Then when I am very close, I will put masking tape around the stock, attach the pad and hand sand the pad until it is fit.

Then I just clean everything up, remove the tape from the underside of the pad, and attach the pad and go SHOOT!!!

Good Luck!!! Don't forget the WD 40!!!
