When I bought my Dillon 550 the place I bought it from set it up for 9mm ,any way I took the seating die out by the retaining clip.I notice the seater was in wrong ,it was set up for lswc so I flipped it over.when I flipped it over I forgot to readjust it and ran a bunch of ammo through it so here's the question can I reseat bullet heads a little more after I already crimped them? Thanks

Re: Seating after crimp

"can I reseat bullet heads"

You sure can. But why bother, shoot 'em as they are if they'll chamber.

"Bullet heads"?

Re: Seating after crimp

They'll chamber no problem. They drop right in,I don't screw around with seating depths or charge weights it's just for plinking. My coal now is 1.187

Re: Seating after crimp

if the ammo is lightly taper crimped, go ahead and reseat the bullets, it hurts nothing at all but if they are heavily crimped, try a few and see if you get some copper shaving if not you are good to go, just make sure to recrimp again after reseating.
hope this helps.

Re: Seating after crimp

20incher, you don't have too many options besides shooting what you got. Attempting to seat the already crimped bullet heads deeper is not recommended. You will probably bulge the case walls.

Fuzz, please try to respond without the snarky stuff, you know perfectly well what bullet heads are.

Yeah. It was a gentle way to let the OP know, you know? I've seen snarky and that isn't the way it looks! You play nice now.
