Rifle Scopes Looking for general purpose glass

Mounting on a general purpose hunting (woods) and target rifle (Win m70 in 243). Shooting ranges from wood chucks in my garden, deer in the woods, or paper out to 600 yards.

Currently running a burris 2-7, happy with the power range(most often on 4x) but the hunting turrets, and no zero stop or reset are a real F'n pain.

My biggest drive for new glass is the desire for target turrets, and a better return to zero.

Price: under $1200

Currently I am looking at the Vortex PST 2.5-10, but I figured I would ask around before committing. See if there are any other nice general purpose scopes out there to consider.

I had even considered something like the SS 1-6 or others like it, but I am not sure if they would be suited for my needs.

I think that would be about perfect. It doesn't have a zero stop, but one revolution will get you out past your stated max range. </div></div>

Hard to top this recommendation.

Re: Looking for general purpose glass

I need a little more magnification for 600, I would vote for the 4-16 pst. Also I have a weaver tactical 3-10 (299 at midway) on my woods gun and couldn't be happier.

SS 3-9 for me.... I've shot out to 500 so far with it, and had it on two 308's now.

Really happy with it.
