I`m trying to figure out where to post so the most people will see what I have to say. I sent money to individual and I haven`t received my merchandise. He won`t respond to my emails or by phone. Where should I put this so no one else will get ripped off by same punk? Thanks

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

Lay down on the black leather couch, close your eyes and tell us about it.

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

On June 26, 2012, I placed an ad on the WTB section. WTB-Mcmillan Big Mac stock for 50BMG. About 1 week later while checking my email on my yahoo account, I got an email saying this sender had one that looked like new but it was used and he would take $240 shipped. I asked for pics and he told me he wasn`t computer savy, didn`t know exactly how to send pics to my email but he would try to by phone. After a few days he said he couldn`t figure it out, saying he was an older man, retired from military, and promised the stock was as he said it was. He told me to send funds by moneygram, so I sent it to him and I got an email a few hours later saying he got the money. The next day he said he went to ship the stock but it was going to cost $160 more because of being a gun part it had to go through customs. Well, we both mentioned trust in about every conversation we had and I told him I wasn`t paying anymore because he told me $240 shipped. He said he would send money back to me because he couldn`t afford to ship it. He promised that he wouldn`t rip me off saying he mentioned trust first. All of this was by email. Later that day, he called me and we discussed matters. After about a 30 minute conversation, I agreed to send the $160. It was still a great deal but that wasn`t what we agreed on but anyway. So the next day ( I believe his time was 5 hours ahead of me, I`ll get to that in minute). So the next morning I got email from him saying he received the $160 and he would ship stock in morning his time and then would email me tracking number. This took place on July 7th. Since then, nothing. No more emails, won`t take phone calls, no stock. Tuesday I called him and he picked up and I said I was the one that bought the stock from you and where`s it at. He hung up on me. I tried to call back but nothing. It`s a shame we have people like that in this world. I was raised where trust is everything. A handshake meant something. Today it`s hard to find trust. I try to live right everyday, helping others as much as possible, and shit like this happens. I just ran a group buy on here, Jewell Triggers, and I had alot of strangers money that I have never met and probably never will but I can promise you one thing, it`s their money not mine, they sent it to me for a trigger, and thats what they will get. This punk that took my money, one day it will catch up to him. I`m just glad it was only $400. I hope this never happens to any of you so look out. Here is the guys name and info that stole my money.

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

Wow....burned the first time and then sent more $$$.

Throwing $$$ at a delinquent shipper is RARELY....NOPE.....NEVER the solution.

You should be just as mad at yourself as you are the alleged seller.

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

Unfortunately I think you are totally out of luck

But for next time:

Them sending you a direct e-mail rather than a PM gives you one less avenue to check their feedback and time here.

That they couldn't send you a picture is totally BS, it's 2012, you can't hardly get a cellphone without a camera on it if you try, and everybody has one, or at least has someone they know with one.

International payments not done on a credit card pretty much mean you can kiss your money goodbye if anything goes wrong, so I'd want lots of references or a good long history on the hide here.

gmail / yahoo / hotmail addresses are scammers best friends, Some forums would even not accept an account unless you had a corporate or standard ISP issued address.

Sorry to hear about your trouble, hopefully nobody else gets ripped off by him.

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

If they don't send a photo, that is a red flag. Sending more money was a BIG mistake. He could have returned your money and you would then have some reason to trust him.

The PM route would have been safer. You got burned, hopefully only once.

I'll offer up a faint glimmer of hope.....maybe it's locked down in customs awaiting the beauracracy machine to do it's thing.

Let me guess. He never gave you his Sniper's Hide user name. He probably doesn't have one.

The way to protect that is to:

1. Have a Admins make the For Sale Sections of the forum only accessible to registered members.

2. Never have your email in an ad. Only use forum P.M.s for transaction discussion.

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

I talked to Lowlight about this and he done some research for me.
He found out this punk was a hide member so he was banned. Thanks Frank.

Can Lowlight get you the guy's IP address?

That may narrow it down to ISP. If you want to push it, I believe the PD can subpoena records from the ISP to see who had what IP at what time.

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

Sorry to hear that. I would never send money to anyone overseas....too easy to get ripped off unless you know them. I hope you get some closure!

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

Try contacting him again with a sympathetic tone. Explain that you understand the hassle that he must go through to ship the stock and that you'd feel better about the transaction if you paid him a little more for his trouble. Tell him since the item is worth significantly more than his asking price, that you'd be ok with paying double the price plus shipping. However, since you are purchasing this for a corporation you need the entire transaction to be listed in one purchase order and payment. Ask him to send a refund and you'll send him one payment of $640. Probably not a chance in hell of this working, but it's worth a shot....

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

Hate to say it dude but what the fuck where you thinking? He takes a sizable chunk of your money and then comes back for more and you actually fall for it?

Lesson learned bro, can't trust people and that is the reality of it.

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

Excaliber, PM me his username from here please.

Re: Stole my money!

Hopefully the phone number you've got for him is a land line. Put his number on speed dial. Figure out when it's 3am his time (or whatever's convenient for you). Call him once a night every 3rd to 5th night but never speak. He'll figure it out. Maybe he'll pay you back then. Don't do it on a regular routine (every [other] night); he'll unplug the phone if it's a land line. This'll work better if he thinks it may not happen all the time.

If nothing else, it'll be the only fun you get out of this situation. Good luck.

And you don't think that Hide membership can cover "the UK part" as well as the CONUS??? We have several members in good standing based in and around the UK. Hell, we may even have a few members in the States that are in the UK presently attending the Olympics that might love a northwesterly drive from London through the English countryside up to Liverpool/Merseyside, to pay a douchebag a visit.

To the OP...it might be worth reaching out to some of the Hide brothers in the UK to find out if you can obtain any assistance from them.

Someones on it, but it's unlikely to be resolved.

Unfortunately Excaliber didn't see the warning signs, but living in a different country how could he. The first warning was the address, Liverpool, the second warning was the car breaker, the third warning was a car breaker living in Liverpool with a McMillan BMG stock for sale.

Never deal with someone who doesn't have a reputation worth ruining!

Re: Where to post it? Stole my money!

There is a very special place for people like that. Thanks IanB for everything you have done. Keep me posted.

I was answering Switchblades, "Does the seller live in upper mid TN?" part...Kinda missed that part too didn't ya! I didn't say anything about NOT being able to cover "the UK!"
