I shoot some RWS brass with 73 grains of H1000. My friend has a friend (story) that is reloading for him. He was running 77 grains with Nosler, but RWS brass is smaller. It seems too hot to me but I dont know.

Ive told my friend, and he told his reloader which he didn't listen to him. But before I tell my friend to pull it down, I wanted to double check with some Pro's.
Any help appreciated.

A few details might help getting an answer to your question. Caliber? Cartridge? Gun type? Bullet & weight?

RWS Brass is as strong as you can get!! It can handle more pressure than most. that load should be fine!! As Huckleberry said should be a Mild load with 180's

My load is

208 A-max
215GM Primers
RWS Brass
77.7 Grains RL-25 @ 2980 fps no pressure at all in my rifle

No, he has not shot any yet. His reloader just transitioned to RWS without consideration to case capacity. Looks like he lucked out. Will shoot this weekend.
What special signs of pressure to look for? Anyone have pics of stressed or over pressured brass?

Bolt lift after firing. That said, ammo from a friend who got it from a friend would not find it's way into my rifle.

I run 76.5 with 210 vlds. Should be fine with 180's

I think most here would agree that anyone who switches brands of brass, (especially to a reduced capacity case)in a magnum caliber, without working back up-- should be avoided. The short answer is: you'll only know when you pull the trigger, and then it will be too late to back up and do it right. CKruse

Quick load doesn't have RWS brass, but does have Federal, Norma, Remington and Winchester. The "generic" brass selection shows that load as near maximum pressure. 54630 psi. 7.4% compressed.
