    So,

A buddy of mine had a rifle that he wasn't using and I indicated I'd be interested in it...

Remington 700, AICS folding stock, threaded for a supressor, very nice fluted barrel, says WA on the left side of the barrel, and the serial number starts with the letter "G"

What's the twist on this Remington? Is it a 5R, or 1:10...

    What am I looking at?

BTW: Barrel looks Teflon coated until you get to the threaded end, then the thread end is matte finished, and the thread protector is so perfectly cut you can't seem the seam.

Looks like a 20... Almost exactly the same as my 20 OBR

Oh yeah, the the threads are something x24... But not 5/8x24... And it had an HS Precision stock on it originally...

I believe that's going to be a 1:12 but to find out take a non swivel cleaning rod and put a thick patch on to make it ride the lands. Stick it in the barrel about 15 inches. Mark the cleaning rod in line at 12oclock with the end of the barrel. Slowly pull out and stop once the mark you made comes back around to 12 o'clock. Measure how far you pulled the rod out with a measuring tape.

Sounds like the LTR is there 3 wide flutes on the barrel?
    They are 1-12 twist.

Nope, narrow flutes... I'll call Remington, probably easier.

He indicated it was stabilizing 220gr rounds, sub-sonic, without issue at a few hundred yards. Seemed to think 1:10...

    Rem is doing 308s with 1/10, 1/11.25, and 1/12.

Break out the cleaning rod and a ruler....

    1:12 it is....

So... what rounds can I shoot reliably at distance out of that barrel?

My SPS Tactical is 1:12 and 20" - it love 168gr Federal Gold Medal Match, and even more it likes Horday Match 168gr A-Max.

    Try some.
