Hi guys,

Wanted to keep the tradition alive here at Snipershide so here it is, we will be posting this on our website in the next 24 hours, call it 2200 CST.

Edited to add that the guessing is over at 2200 on 08-09-2012.

The first person that guesses the weight as we will post it, wins one, please one guess per member.

And the first person that makes the shooting connection wins a 100.00 gift certificate.

BT41 – B&T Letter Opener – $274.95

B&T Industries L.L.C. is proud to introduce a letter opener for our customers that want to have a serious desk top accoutrement with purpose and function.

We machined the Handle and Pommel from 300 series Stainless Steel then tumbled to compliment the blade. The blade, made by Spartan Blades http://spartanbladesusa.com , is machined from 440C Stainless Steel given a Rockwell Hardness of C 58-59 with a Cyro treatment followed by Alumina then Ceramic Blast and finally a PVD Chromium coating. The two Buna o-rings prevent rattling when sheathed for a stealthy presentation. The double ground edges along the length of the blade are not sharp but the point is.

The protective Sheath is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, Mil Spec hard anodized with Stainless Steel components, the design and size is borrowed from the legs found on the Atlas 5H bipods. A portion of the hexagon profile bar stock, which is used for Atlas bipod legs, is retained to help prevent rolling off your desk top

The overall length of the sheathed B&T Letter Opener is approximately 9.5” long; the Letter Opener component is 9.125” long having a blade length of 5”, .500 width and thickness of .190 and weighs <span style="font-weight: bold">10</span> ounces approximately. It is shipped in a black 1000 denier Cordura pouch (made by CSM Gear http://www.csmgear.com ). These are 100% made in America in limited numbers.

Thanks AS, I appreciate it.

Sure lowlight share the love!

Re: New Swag - details.....

12 oz

Is modeled after the new heavy Atlas Bipod leg for the shooting connection

Re: New Swag - details.....

11 oz
the connection... its a letter opener for messages sent to the people who send little 175 grain messages to bad people

Re: New Swag - details.....

its the leg of one of the Atlas bipods --- not sure if thats what you meant by a connection to shooting or if you were refering to the "weight" relating to shooting

I'll guess 7.62 oz which could also relate to shooting for the most common long range precision round

Figured it was something other than that but certain makes sense, thought of that when I first saw it.

Re: New Swag - details.....

does it weigh 16.2 oz?

No clue how it would be related to shooting be side it being based off the atlas bipod legs. Perhaps it holds a spare bullet in the handle?

Re: New Swag - details.....

There's a good chance I'm looking at this all wrong, but I'm leaning towards a different train of thought.

The letter-opener (having a dull blade and sharp point) is just that, a nice letter opener. It doesn't need anything to make it stand out.

The sheath itself functions nicely as a sheath, but seems to be more than 'overkill' for its job. I'm thinking that there's more to it.

Especially considering that there is a pouch as well, with something that appears to be a lanyard of sorts. Function? I'll guess that there's a belt-loop behind there? That lanyard ties onto/loops into what? What function is there to pull the sheath from the pouch, then pull the letter-opener from the sheath?

Either I'm overcomplicating a stick, or there's more to this.

Interesting.

Re: New Swag - details.....

It wouldn't happen to be the same weight as an Atlas bipod, would it? o_0

Re: New Swag - details.....

Got some close guesses on the weight but none have hit the mark yet

The "connection" has been identified.

Less than 4 hours left.
