Rifle Scopes SWFA website stock?

I go online and place an order for the SWFA 16x and it does not mention it's out of stock, back order or even a ETA on when they'll receive another shipment. So during this time I place a order and receive confirmation and CC was charged instantly. I get email today that they're informing me the scope is not in stock but they maintain a multi-million dollar inventory. Well that's great, but why charge my card if the item is not in stock? Then I get another charge for a different amount so now I'm like WTF?!? Maybe they should let some of that multi-million slide into their customer service or possibly even upgrading the site to show what's in stock.

Any other suggestions to a fixed high powered scope?

Re: SWFA website stock?

They probably didn't charge your card, they authorized it basically checking to see if you have the open funds to complete the purchase. Did you order anything other than the one scope? If so then they probably authorized your card for total amount then charged you the "available" portion.

I'd call and talk to them if your concerned.

Well maybe you should contact their customer service before complaining about it. SWFA has been fantastic to me every time I needed to contact them. Just call or shoot them an email and ask when the scope will be back in stock, and voice your concerns about the charges. I have no doubt SWFA will take care of you.

And yes, it does suck when an item you want is out of stock. I agree that SWFA needs to put the stock status on their website. I email them before placing an order to check if an item is in stock.

Re: SWFA website stock?

Email, PM (SWFA), or call them. Their customer service is exceptional.

Re: SWFA website stock?

My credit card was charged and my available credit was reduced so no it wasn't authorized. I sent them 2 emails in regards to why my cc was charged then a 2nd email about the different amount that was charged and I'm still waiting for a reply. I'm not coming on here to boycott SWFA just simply stating why charge my card and not show stock status.

Re: SWFA website stock?

Have you tried calling SWFA? That is usually a much faster response than email. Then you're able to address the problem directly instead of have mis-communication through an email. They will gladly answer any questions and concerns you have or cancel your order for you.

Re: SWFA website stock?

Forget emailing them when you have issues. They responded to me when I wanted to make a purchase but crickets when I emailed about a problem. I do still buy from them FWIW. Call them directly.

Re: SWFA website stock?

When they "authorized" my card it was on there for a couple of days then went away and it also reduced my limit until it disappeared.

But anyway pick up the phone and give them a call they will verify and explain your status as necessary.

Re: SWFA website stock?

I'll give it another day and wait and see if it drops.

In the meantime if anyone has another option to a fixed scope, please inform.

Is the card tied to your bank account? Often ATM-like cards(check cards, debit cards, etc...) will treat an authorization as a charge, and only release it when the authorization expires (a few days).

Re: SWFA website stock?

No sir no ATM card or linkage to bank account. I received a reply from SWFA stating they had no clue where the 2nd charge came from... ??REALLY??

I was told the charge should be reversed shortly.

This isn't a deal breaker for me and still no reply as to when or how I will find out when stock is replenished.

Re: SWFA website stock?

FYI, the scope is now in stock as per an email this morning. This is for the mil/mil version, by the way. I'm not sure if they are planning anymore of the MOA version.

Re: SWFA website stock?

Having bought several items from SWFA myself, I agree that it would be nice if they did upgrade their site software to show that an item is either in stock, or out of stock. Many people shop online nights and weekends when they are not open which can be a problem as far as calling them on the phone.

Re: SWFA website stock?

I received a tracking number late last night and was confused as hell because once again I was not notified and was looking in the classifieds to purchase a used scope. Luckily I didn't commit because it turns out SWFA shipped the scope and charged my credit card once again with no notification. So I immediately sent an email to make sure there is no mix up and I received a email today stating that yes I'll be receiving my scope this week. Excited and confused but it's all done now.

Re: SWFA website stock?

Eagle has landed! Scope at this price range is unbeatable hands down! I've mounted it and just took a look out the window during a pretty grim cloudy day and the clarity looks really good. I'll be taking it out to the range tomorrow so I'll post a few more comments on mechanics and quality. I can see myself buying a handful of these for my rimfires. Finally an extremely affordable and unmatched quality optics for the price.

Re: SWFA website stock?

Same old shit once again. I placed a order on Friday and received out of stock on Monday evening. What do I do, call once a week to check stock? WTF!

Re: SWFA website stock?

Dude trashing a vendor that happens to be a site sponsor, and sponsors many shooting activities is NOT cool. But since you are slow, yes you should probably call before you place an order. Its a fucking phone call... Not hard at all.

Re: SWFA website stock?

Billy why don't you go crawl back up your mothers ass. Sponsor or not that should show stock on their site I don't have time to sit around and make phone calls to check status.

Re: SWFA website stock?

I agree 100% that their website should show in stock/out of stock status...

Yet you have time to make multiple posts here complaining about it?

Re: SWFA website stock?

I didn't mean it like that it's much easier to view availability that's all and save everyone a phone call. No harm I'll try again in another week.

Re: SWFA website stock?

Changing a website to reflect inventory levels costs money. I'd rather SWFA put that money towards keeping their prices low and maintaining their support for the community through sponsorship, group buys, and their 110% price guarantee.
