The more I read through the threads, the more I like the MOD0 look. I already have a SDMR clone and a Recce type, so I'm thinking the MOD 0 may round out the collection a little better. At first I liked the Mod1 look, but now I'm leaning more to the MOD 0.

Any opinions? Is the MOD1 revised with any important improvements, or would you go MOD 0 too

Go Mod 0 and don't look back...

... and yes I'm biased.

It's what I chose and its now my favorite rifle.

Mod0 better looks, and the swan sleeve is more forgiving to scope mounting. Pretty sure the rail set up and front irons are the only major component changes between the two, been a while since I read up, the info is out there.

If you aren't going to run around with it Mod 0, if you are, maybe the Mod 1

Re: MK12 MOD 0 or MOD1?

I have a Mod 0 and Mod 1, so I guess I’ll have to defer to the wife on my cock status. I like my Mod 0 better than the 1. There’re a couple reasons; I built the 0 and bought the 1 complete, so I’m a little more proud of the one I built. I’m not a big fan of cheese graters on my rifles, so the 0 wins there too. My 0 has a RRA 2stage and the 1 has a SSA-E 2 stage; believe it or not, I like the RRA better. My 0 does not have the additional rail that goes from forearm (tube) to upper and the round ring where the tube meets the upper can cause some mount issues with certain mounts. This is corrected with the additional rail, but comes with additional weight. Both look cool !!! I suggest getting a long sun shad because it makes the scope / rifle proportion look so out of whack it just adds to the cool factor for me.

Re: MK12 MOD 0 or MOD1?

On this site I bought a spec built mod o and a spec built mod 1. Both were HCS builds and correct spec builds.
My opinions are below.
Mod O is very nice to look at but much heavier. Accuracy was superb with both. I like the NF better than the Leupold.
I bought them to use for culling and predator hunting. Sold the mod O to a friend. The Mod 1 is my go to gun. For cool looks, the mod O wins hands down, but that is just an opinion, the weight is a fact.

Is that where you pul the barrel and use the Gen III PRI tube as a fleshlight?

FYI!

DON'T do that with the KAC rail... only the PRI...

... the stitches come out on Friday.

Now that's funny!!! If you had a MOD 0 you wouldn't be in that predicament...

The MOD 0 is the sexiest rifle by far. DO IT!

Re: MK12 MOD 0 or MOD1?

MOD 0 for me, Having the continuous top rail is nice for mounting your scope and NV any where you want without having to mount over the gap or use a cantilever scope mount like the MOD 1 with certain scopes. I also like the fact the continuous rail unitizes the upper/forarm assembly making it monolithic like, It is very stiff.

Just think if you get a MOD 0 you will have a rifle that was ahead of the pack in regards of monolithic top rails and only putting rail segments where you need them and leaving them smooth where you dont. The industry is just now catching up.

The only downside is a little extra weight.

Re: MK12 MOD 0 or MOD1?

I like the mod 0 but didn't want the added height or weight of the top sleeve. Built this as a loose mod 0.

There have been a couple of references to weight difference. Does anyone know what each mod weighs?
