This isn't to say that the Eberlestock X3 LoDrag or X4 HiSpeed suffers from a limited design. I'm just saying that it is better suited for use as a 3 day assault pack, range pack, run & gun, or hiking day pack than it is for being carried for strictly business purposes.

I haven't bought a pack from Ceylon "yet" but it's looking more like I might have to quite soon. I was glad to see this comment come up regarding the X3 LoDrag being used as an everyday/wor/school pack. It would be nice idea but Eberlestock offers a fair range for the everyday purpose.

I bought a HalfTrack recently. Sadly I haven't put hands on it yet but have handled one locally here in Kabul. For my purpose it'll be perfect. Quality is super and it offers some features that are great.

Guys, be glad we're paying the US dollar for this stuff and for some being part of group buys. I was in the DSPX the otherday and they had some Eberlestock hanging on the rack. Pricing was like this, what we pay at home in US dollars from Ceylon or others was marked in Euro's. Damn I would have bought one then but the exchange rate made it just crazy money. I don't mind waiting to get my pack when home next week on vacation.

Just got mine today! only two days shipping from Ceylon to get here-wow. The LoDrag is better than expected and dealing with Ceylon was even better - GREAT guy, highly recommend if looking for a pack you give him a shout. The pack is perfect size for grab and go.....

I wanted to give a big thanks to Ceylon and Eberlestock. I got a LoDrag and went on a trip to Alaska.

I took the Lodrag with me any chance I could. It is very comfortable and I really liked it. It is a very tough material. I was plowing through bushes and pokies and nasty trees and crap the entire hunt and it held up very well.

I ended up getting very lucky and shooting a big bull moose. Well not really big but over 40 inches.

I could pack about 80 pounds of meat in the pack on the interior and still was able to stuff some more stuff in the gun scabbard.

I packed these packs roughly 1/2 mile through branches and sticker bushes. Pack did great and was very comfortable with these very heavy loads. My legs were buring but the pack did fine. I made 5 trips loaded full of meat.

My partner had an exterior frame pack and did the same. he was complaining that the frame was digging into his hip with the heavy loads. I did not have that problem as the pack was soft everywhere.

It had tons of blood on it, When I got to a place I could, I pressure washed it at a car wash. Evreything cleaned right up. It had been a couple days until that time becuase we were out in the middle of the Denali so it did have some blood stains that did not come out with the water.

Overall, it did great, I will have to say that I did very well becuase I had a roll of twine. It does not have a bunch of places on the outside to strap stuff down. Mainly becuase it does not have straps. Straps would be a good investment for this pack. Maybe 4 and you would be set up. Or like me a roll tieing material.

If you are looking for a good all around hunting pack. this is the one. Look no further.

I think the GS II is also good but with the added volume is would have packed too much meat in my opinion.

I can only pack so much up a hill through sticks and bushes. FIVE TIMES!!!

I see a lot of people asking about drag bags vs the eberlestock products. For comparison purposes, I snapped a pic of the lodrag next the eagle drag bag to compare the size of the two. Note, the eberlestock is physically smaller, but allows me to carry much more gear and in a more organized, easier-to-get-to manner.

Just got one in for a range bag. Great. I wish they used Cordura, but its a solid bag with great workmanship that can hold a TON! The support system is well designed and doesnt feel like anything is on my back.

I just finished a 60-hour LE sniper school carrying one of these around every day (as did the guy who went with me). By the end of the class, the instructor said he was going to buy one. This pack honestly made my life easier at a difficult school in pretty nasty conditions. This thing got tossed around and generally abused - no problems of any sort.

The more I use this pack, the more I like it. I'd buy another if I had another rifle to put in it!

When Glen Eberle showed this pack at SHOT Show this past January, I told him it could be a "game changer" among the law enforcement & tactical community. It is so versatile & well designed that it is in class all it's own...

Are there straps/buckles inside that hold the rifle and keep it from falling out should one have to crawl, or crouch, jump over an obstacle etc.? I'm 'bout to order one of these packs from Ceylon today or tomorrow and just curious.

Thanks for the question. There are no straps, fasteners, or buckles <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="text-decoration: underline">inside</span></span> the scabbard that could further secure the weapon. HOWEVER, there are two sets of clips at the entrance to the scabbard that can be engaged, which will secure the rifle & keep it from falling out should you need to duck, croutch, crawl, etc. See the pics below:

The "stunt rifle" in the pics is an AR with a collapseable stock. If you're running a wider stock then the clips do an even better job of holding things in place.

Also, you can add the Eberlestock Butt Cover accessory (GSTC) if you want to further protect your rifle. This cover comes with the male/female clips that match up with those located on the pack. Just fit the cover over the butt stock of the rifle, connect the clips, and cinch down of the straps that connect to the clips. This will provide cosmetic protection to the stock AND keep it in place during times of movement, etc.

Thanks Ceylon, that helps a ton! I was going to order the butt-cover anyway. One last question, my rifle is 40" muzzle to recoil-pad...will the X3 hold this length rifle well?

A picture of the LoDrag with a 40" rifle in place. The rifles are held in place by friction and you would have to do bad things to need the retaining straps that are at the top.

I have an x3 I bought from Ceylon and my Dta with 22" .308 fits great in there. There's room to spare if you added a can even on a 26" barrel.

It works well.

I use an X3 with a DTA & 26" Barrel, and the buttstock is pretty much flush with the top of the pack (i.e. you can latch the buckles, but nothing sticks above the top of the pack).

I usually take my can off in this configuration, but it's not required, it would just stick up a few more inches.

I have the accessory cover ceylon mentions above, but will probably never use it unless it's snowing - Even then, probably still not...

I've had my X3 along with the butt cover since September and its great. The beauty of the whole thing is it allows me to carry and cover my rifle. Along with all the other items needed in one easy to carry package. In doing such it helps eliminate forgetting items its well worth the investment in your sanity.

The ENDO frame has been out a while now & I'm getting feedback from guys regarding it's performance & utility. While some opinions fall in the "...this frame ROCKS" and "...this frame SUCKS" catagories, the vast majority of reports indicate that it works as advertised but isn't a game changer as far as overall pack performance is concerned. The intent & design of the ENDO internal frame is to provide edge to edge support & improve rigidity when running large/heavy loads. The ENDO is merely augmenting the framesheet that is part of the pack, which does it's job well for standard sized and/or weighted load outs.

Here is what I tell customers considering the ENDO as part of a purchase. If they are going to be running standard sized loads for 95% of their applications, they're probably going to be fine without it. Should they forsee a need to really load down the pack on a regular basis (such as packing out an elk, hauling 5+ days of overnight camping gear, etc), then I think adding the ENDO Frame makes good sense. BUT, they shouldn't expect the rigidity of an ALICE type frame, just added stability & structure when hauling the load.

Great info thanks. Any feedback as far as carrying a bow with this pack? The pack seems like it might make it difficult to strap a bow onto.

This is exactly what you told me when I purchased and you were exactly right. I got the endo and have just kept it in the pack since it weights nothing. I would rather have it and not need it ......

Has anyone tried to carry abow with the X3? I would like to use this pack to carry a bow(rarely), during archery season, as well as my rifle during my rifle hunts. I spent about 2hrs at sportsmans warehouse today comparing the GSII and the X3. Right now im leaning towards the GSII. I was messing with a buttbuckett on the X3, it might work, but no real way to secure it to the top of pack.

I've carried a bow on my x3 before,I just used bongie straps to secure it to the pack. It's kind of an inconvenience but it does work.

I love my X3, been carrying it for almost a year now hunting and shooting. The only thing I dont like is the small double water bladder slots. I would rather it have one large one. I fixed this problem with a seam ripper cause I could not use my 100oz CB bladder. Other then that, great pack.
