That looks great! How does it shoot? I am trying to decide if I want to build my own with a Noveske barrel or just order a complete upper from HCS. I have a Noveske lower with a fixed stock, Geissele trigger all ready to go. Ordered a NF 5-22 yesterday. I'll have it here in the next couple weeks for a big shooting party i'm going to.

Shoots better than I do. I can keep it around an inch most of the time with Black Hills 77gr, 5.56mm pressure loads (Mk262?) and I'll be the first to call myself a very mediocre shooter. The reticle is a jack-of-all-trades so it's a bit thick for trying to shoot pea groups. It might tighten up with something like a P4F on a S&B or something finer. I don't think I've heard of a bad Noveske barrel.

The barrel was a specific run by Noveske for Wes Grant of MSTN which differs from Noveske's typical polygonal rifling. I'm not sure if Noveske sells this barrel directly to a customer or if it's still in production. They do offer a "SPR barrel" but it uses an intermediate gas system and polygonal rifling so it isn't the same thing. I'd be curious how the Noveske offering stacks up against the contract Mk12 Compass Lake Engineering, Douglas barrels. I was going to have Monty at Centurion build me a Mk12 upper with the contract barrel but he was backlogged 6+ months so i went with Wes since I didn't want to wait (I ended up waiting a year for the USO though, doh!). I don't remember if HCS was offering Mk12 uppers at the time. This was probably about three years ago.

I'd just order from HCS or Centurion to get a 100% parts-correct SPR upper since it's simple. I think those are the only two guys making true Mk12 uppers since they have access to contract barrels and everyone else makes "something close". You can't go wrong with Noveske though but I'm not sure if they still sell or make the barrel I purchased.

I have seen a lot of good looking black rifles in my time but that one to me takes the cake. What did the total build cost set you back if you don't mind me asking?

They are fun for sure, I have one. One bit of advice... take that TAB cover off the can when you shoot....

Very nice...

Why take the cover off when shooting? Having never owned a suppressor or shot more than a few rounds through one, I am low on info here. Is this specific for the type of can the OP is running? Too much heat build up - lead to damage?
