Anyone heard of when we can expect Remington's MSR and/or XM2010 (M24E1) to be available for civilian use? I know they recently, within the last few months, released the M24-A2 to the public, but I haven't heard anything about the MSR or even the chassis since Shot Show 2012..

I saw an XM2010 on GunsAmerica running for about $17k. Let's hope they're about half that..

Re: Remington MSR & XM2010

im guessing you could build a clone of it but i don't see it being released to the general public anytime soon. I'm sure if you shopped around and gathered specs and prices you could probably build a clone that shot just as good.

Re: Remington MSR & XM2010

Run a search on this forum, I believe that the XM2010's have already been spied at some gun dealers. For about the price of a low mileage Honda Accord.

Re: Remington MSR & XM2010

I believe CADEX does the chassis system, they are also a site sponsor. I know I read that on this forum some time ago.

The remainder would be dropping in a .300WM 700 and correct barrel, which as Mike0341 mentions above you could clone.

My guess is you'd pay significantly less for the clone, and by purchasing the pieces have a rifle more fitting for you.

Building a clone is definitely on my wish list.

Re: Remington MSR & XM2010

I've heard of both of the systems running for $13k, so in this case the building of that rifle would probably be cheaper! I think the system looks neat but a rifle with tons of moving parts and screws... I don't want to know how many times I'd be taking that into a smith. Plus I think the only reason it's so expensive is because of its caliber converting add ons.
