Rifle Scopes New Scope Opinions, Am I doing the right thing.

I know opinions are like......well, you know, but I ask this question anyway. I have two mid level scopes A Leupold Mark 4 10X and a Nikon 2.5-10X44 tactical Illuminated mil dot. I have a chance to trade both of these for a Schmidt and Bender 4-16X50 with a #8 Mil dot reticle. My question is this a good trade?

It seems it is to me but I'm not a scope guy. Just looking for someone that knows about scopes to say "Yes, It's an awesome deal"........Thanks in advance for any info you might give.

I would go for it. Many folks sell their scopes at a big loss in an attempt to trade up. It looks like you are coming across a pretty good deal. Is this a private FTF transaction, hopefully not an unseen gunbroker trade.

Everything's on the up and up. I would not send my scopes off to never never land. I just don't know much about FFP scopes. But it looks like I'm about to learn!!

also I read where some people say that matching turrets and reticles are important. This particular scope has a 8 dot reticle. So I guess the matching thing is non-relevant. If anyone knows how to use this reticle as far as ranging is concerned please feel free to inform me.
