Ya know, I've never said anything like this, to anyone here. About anyone here. It has been alluded to so many times through the course of my life. There are also a number of times where it has been shown as well as proven.

Damn foreigners coming into our country, spending their dollars (which are of higher value), clearing our shelves, crowding our aisles, demanding immediate service, expecting to get 'bulk deals', taking up 2 (and sometimes 4) parking spaces with a single passenger vehicle. Add to that, a whole ROW of parking spaces, with a motorhome 'quad-parking' a whole row of spaces. And then laughing about it all, with impunity.

    Cross-Border Shoppers are an inconvenience!

I've not personally done so, but I can understand why there are some who have. This considering that the status-quo has been the norm for about 3 decades now. Until recently. My how the tables get turned. And now WE are the bad guys? Welcome to Canada.

    ,,,,,,,,,

Now all joking aside. I for one, do still want to move to the U.S. Not exactly sure how I/we are gonna do it, but the desire is there. For a number of reasons. For anyone reading this post, realize that you're of the demography that probably WOULDN'T act so,,,, but there are so many who (think and/or vote) differently than you do. Ergo, this is what I'm trying to point out. What the other "half" of your countrymen are like. How's that working out for you?

    Re: Stereotypical Arrogance,

LOL. I hear the same complaints about Canadian snowbirds here in FL.

    lol

    Damn gas and milk smugglers.

    Re: Stereotypical Arrogance,

I actually shop at this costco and i can tell you the canadians are a pain in the ass! my cousin manages the home depot in bellingham and she says the better part of most days is spent on the phone with or face to face with canadians demanding a better deal because they came all the way down from BC to shop there! I also am an avid salmon fisherman and have had my windows broken out of my truck with of all things potatos while fishing in BC so it seems the dislike of foreigners goes both ways......that being said i am not stupid enough to demand they leave, because when they do they talk their money with them DUH!
i just suck it up or get on freeway south to the burlington costco.

    Re: Stereotypical Arrogance,

I remember driving through the Bellingham area when the Canuck buck was around 60 cents US and it was a ghost town. I think these people need to realize just how much money those Canucks are dumping into their local economy and just shut up.

    Re: Stereotypical Arrogance,

Hooookay people, remember that you 'saw it here, first.' I have an apology to make.

I brought up earlier, the "cross-border shopping" issues that I grew up with (in the Lower Mainland) and everything that I described was of what I/we experienced from American shoppers coming up and thinking that (and acting like) they owned the place. And yes, there have been quite a few extremely arrogant 'Southerners' over the years. Remembering of course, that any American is a 'southerner' to us. And before you bring up Alaskans, well... we never saw them. They were too smart to come south.
    wink.gif

But here's the issue. I was just given a new link that is dealing with the Washington State x-border shopping issue. This one has a video. I watched that video, and am linking it here! I have to state, unequivocally, and for the record THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY OF YA'LL ACT IN THESE MANNERS. I can't (for the life of me) believe the animalistic attitudes of some of these 'people'. And yes, they shop the same here in the major cities where there are larger numbers of 'their fellow countrymen'.

Obviously, these are actually "ambassadors of other nations to whom Canada is simply the latest place to hang their 'hat'." Kinda like ants and locusts... swoop in, clean up, leave for the next nest. Things weren't nearly as good back at home, so lets go make other places, just like 'back at home'.

I'm sorry, but what was described to me earlier, and then shown to me just a few minutes ago, are two totally different stories.

And while I have, for years, not judged all individuals by a minimum of examples,,,,, I pray that you too keep the same view.

What I thought was some simple "tit-for-tat" is actually a whole different kettle-of-fish. I only ask that ya'll don't think that us actual Canadians are like that.

Canadians. Not quite France...but wait till they talk.

Dude, dang, why don't you just piss on the mans forehead? That's just wrong! LOL!

    Re: Stereotypical Arrogance,

I live in Bellingham (the city with the Costco) and while there are obnoxious people on both sides of the border its unfair to single out one group. I'm a dual citizen (USA/Canada) so I have a bit more perspective on both cultures than the average citizen and while it is true that Costco is much, much busier than it used to be I am also a capitalist and appreciate the additional revenue. I enjoy certain aspects of both cultures but am glad I live in the US simply for the relaxed gun laws.

Lol, I was hoping it would be harsh enough that the joke would be obvious. I've been to New France, I mean Canada once before and it's not all that bad. Abbotsford BC. People were nice, but I think there were more "non Canadian nationals" when I visited, than there are "illegal aliens" here in the US.
All in all, I'm sure it's relatively equal on both sides of the border, depending on the area.
