The Precision Rifle course is designed for those individuals wanting to learn to place precision shots on point targets out to the maximum effective range of their rifle. This course will give the student the knowledge and fundamental skills to successfully engage targets from various shooting positions at extended ranges. This is a fast paced course where students will quickly transition from shooting paper to reactive steel targets out to a distance of 600-800 yards over the course of 2 days. The use of reactive steel targets not only provides the shooter with instant feedback on shot placement but also limits down time associated with other courses where there is a need to reset targets.

I'm taking the class. I haven taken others and am really looking forward to this one. Jason and the crew at Ronin put on classes that are fun, enjoyable informative, Improve your shooting and They will push you to be a better shooter. The Range where the class is is outstanding. There will more steel then you can shake a stick at. Reactive, Swingers, you name it. I will also be doing some demo's and if you Buy an can you can shoot it during the class.

For those that missed the Long Range Precision Rifle course on Sept 1-2, here is a teaser!

We had a small group of shooters which allowed us to pack in lots of additional material. We started out in the classroom at Colonial Armory. Steve and Pete were on hand to provide info on products and suppressors. Steve provided demo cans for everyone in the course! This made for a quiet 2 days.

Ronin staff provided instruction on fundamentals, ballistics, wind reading, and range estimation via MIL/MOA based reticles.

The weather held out with no rain and winds around 8-12 mph both days. On the range, shooters confirmed zero with the demo cans and then it was on to fundamentals. After a few drills on paper it was time to bang the steel.

The remainder of the course was shot entirely on steel. We had reactive steel plates, swingers, and static plates out to 900 yards. Once everyone had established dope at various distances, we spent several hours engaging targets from alternate positions. Shooters were introduced to sitting, kneeling, standing unsupported, as well as supported positions from the Hog Saddle, tripods, and various shooting sticks.

Next, we had shooters working range estimation via reticles. There was a mix of both MIL and MOA reticles. Each shooter was literally RAN through the paces at varying distances with only 2 attempts to engage the steel. Most were able to range within +/- 10 yards which resulted in solid hits!

We finished out the course engaging targets out to 900 yards in light winds. A stress course was added for one student prepping for an upcoming competition.

It was a solid 2 days of shooting! Thanks to Randy and John for helping to make this an outstanding course. A huge thanks goes out to Colonial Armory for the support and providing suppressors for everyone. Last but not least, to Justin for providing the facility to make this happen so close to home.

Ronin out...
